Sure why not otherwise they sit and do nothing.

Try germinating in paper towels or napkins.

Lightly spray napkins place seeds inside and fold and spray both sides of
napkins again then put it in a plastic baggy and put in a dark place.

That's how I do mine and have a high rate of germination.

Thanks so this works for peppers as well? How long do they need to germ for and do you start to see a tap root?

Yes it usually works with all seeds and yes once it germinates and you see root remove and plant.
Peppers can be funny..some take longer than others.

Check rareseeds website and see what it says about these peppers.

oh man, some of those could take over 30 days to sprout. Your best bet first off is to maintain an 80-85 degree F temp for sprouting, peppers are a tropical plant and do much better when sprouted at a higher temp. Maintain humidity while sprouting. For some harder to germinate peppers, like chinenses and pubescens, you would really benefit from soaking for 24 hours first in a weak black tea solution. (ex. brew a cup of tea with one tea bag, dump it out and brew again with same bag, then use that water to sprout). i love growing peppers, almost as much as other stuff. feel free to ask anything.

put plastic wrap over cups/pots to hold moisture and take off every day or 2 so they do not mold. my pepper inside germing at about 75 degrees took 2-3 weeks.
