What's up RIU gang? I've got another grow going on with probably about 4 weeks left in flowering, but I'm going to be popping some new beans sometime in the next week or so. I've got to do a little bit of reorganizing to do to make room, but since today is a nice lazy Sunday I figured it would be a good opportunity to start my journal and note all the details about my setup, soil, lighting, etc.
Lets start with the seeds. I just received these packs from GTA Seed Bank Friday...
This is my first time dealing with GTA, and though I haven't tried sprouting anything yet, I highly recommend them at this point. Not only did I receive them within two weeks of mailing payment, they also provided very fast and courteous email responses and I felt the packaging was stealthier than anyone else I've dealt with (though that's not saying too much as this is my 4th order since I began growing a few years ago.).
So as far as my setup and intentions for this grow, pretty basic setup. They will be sprouted in peat pods and dropped into soil the second they pop out of the top. The initial soil mix will be happy frog, and once they are more developed I will be transplanting them into a homemade organic soil mix (for more information on that you can check out my current grow in my signature). Since this is an organic grow, there will be no nutes. I occasionally mix some calmag into my watering routine but that is the only supplement they will receive. I don't plan on doing any kind of advanced techniques with this grow, just topping a few weeks before flower (except for the auto) and super cropping a week or two after I top depending on how fast they rebound after topping. As I am only popping one of each of these seeds right now, I also plan on taking a clone of the GTH and the LSD just in case either turns out to be a really fantastic pheno that I'd like to keep.
As far as lighting and grow room, they will be started under CFLs inside of an old reptile enclosure under an 18/6 lighting regimen. As they mature they may be transferred to a veg cabinet I have or they may spend all of veg inside of the reptile enclosure. It all depends on how quickly I can free up space. Aside from the plants I currently have in flower, I also have some clones of them and other seedlings (not journaled) growing in my veg cabinet. I'm hoping they will be ready for flowering after around 6-8 weeks of veg, but will not change the lighting to 12/12 until they are either showing preflowers or alternating nodes. The flower tent is 4x4x6.5 and holds a 600w HPS light. As far as filtration, I've got a 170cfm fan hooked up to a homemade PVC filter with an activated carbon filter pack inside. My current grow is my first run with this filter setup, and since I still have not smelled anything even though I've got a couple of Sour Diesel plants deep into flower, I'm very happy with it's performance!

Though there seems to be a few journals out there documenting the LSD, I couldn't find more than one complete journal on the Ghost Train Haze and no complete journals on the Diesel Berry. I am a Sativa lover, and more specifically a Diesel lover! I'm hoping with this journal to add a little bit of knowledge about how these strains grow and smoke for anybody else out there who was as curious about these strains as I was.
