rap-a-lot

I grew up on alot of the rap-a-lot artists music and to this day they still have a good roster but why dont they put out music like they used to? I really thought after Pimp C was released that rap-a-lot was going to take off again but it seems like they slowed down again after he died. I also thought after the last UGK album, which was released on Jive, that they were going to be dropping on rap-a-lot. Wonder if they have enough finished songs for James Prince to drop a whole UGK album or not. Anyone have any thoughts on rap-a-lot? Who was your favorite artist on the label?

after pimp died? i heard geto boys just released one but havent got a chance to pick it up ... i actually purchase houston artists cds and download others but the only one i know of for sure was the II trill album from bun. I hope rap-a-lot will keep the roster alive. I also heard both trae and z-ro left but then heard z-ro came back?

i agree totally. rap-a-lot isnt quite as hard as it used to be. even face seems to have lost some of his intensity. i have a hip hop thread on here with a lot of old great rap a lot shit.

rap died because of strict rules that rappers have to follow these days. i grew up with 2pac, scarface, snoop dogg, black sheep, onyx and other rappers ya'll may have never heard of before and i continue to listen to old skool. dont let old skool die. support it. its pretty damn bad when rappers cant even rap about what they wanna rap about anymore. they want to hide the fact that theres poverty in america. or at least make it seem small and not a big deal. fuck this new school rap. its not about ppl's hard lives anymore.
