Is there a possible way to make/buy a temperature dimmer switch, so it comes on full when at high temps and dims lower on cooler temps?

Just a random thought but im willing to try if its possible.

Thanks

you could use a thermostat to make the light come on when it get's to hot or to cold, but making a dimmer work would be pretty difficult.
when I was testing my room, I used a t-stat,12v battery and a trailer brake light.
set the temp for 85, if it went above, the light would come on.

I was thinking maybe using a programmer linked to a thermostat and set it to dim at certain times of the day. Would that be any easier

Im willing to spend money if its much easier to do then make one.

dimming a light would be difficult. a better option would be to have a light mover, so you can cover more space with a single lamp, or if you have multiple lights you could get a ballast flipper so only half your lights run at the same time, then the flipper will change to the other light it's powering at the programmed interval (good flipper's are rare) or you could individually time them. if you had say 4 lights in a square room, you could run one lamp at a time for 3 hr per lamp, or 2 lamps at a time for 6 hrs, however you need based off the ambient temp. this way you could still cover the entire canopy, but put out far less heat

I would try to do this with a single relay and a thermostat. Wire the lamp to the dimmer control and set the relay to simply bypass the dimmer when the thermostat trips.
