Ramadan is the holy month of the year in the Muslim calendar, the one when the Muslims stop eating, drinking and getting sex from the dawn until the sunset. It's also the month when the Muslims pray more hoping getting more benediction and being closer to Allah.

Please tell me how you dont eat or drink for more then 12 hours a day?
How is depriving yourself of nutrition beneficial for your body and spirit?

They can't eat during daylight, so they eat before dawn and then feast after sunset. This is easier than it might seem, because most Arab/Muslim countries are near the equator, so their summer days don't stretch on for fifteen hours like they do further north.

You'd change your tune of you were invited to one of their meals after dark; they know how to throw a feed- and it's okay to eat with your hands!

Anyone I ever met from the Middle East demonstrated great hospitality and they have (IMHO) stronger ties with extended family. Seems like monthly holidays of some sort, where extended families get together for big meals.

Like anything else, it's extremists and governments that cause the trouble.

I'm not racist and I'm not prejudiced against any given faith. That said, it sure is funny to me that just about every Arab I've ever met has been friendlier to me than every Israeli I've ever met. It's not my bias; I often don't know who they are until they identify themselves.

Agreed about governments and extremists causing trouble. It's that way everywhere, definitely including right here in 'murica.

they also do other things during Ramadan like stop themselves from talking about people or gossiping, theres more to it than just not eating during day light hours.

plenty of other religions do similar fastings.

because well youre in danger of killing yourself or your child
