Subcool, your Qush looks beautiful...can you please address the lineage issue with the Qush please. You say it's a pre-98 bubba cross but in this video Bubba himself claims that anybody claiming to have had a pre-98 bubba is misinformed.

Please watch till the end and clear up the confusion.

To Be clear any PNW grower has access to the Bubba Cutting its not exclusive at all not sure why people have that idea.
I know 3 dozen people in 4 states that run or have run her before.
This is the same cutting TGA has had access to for a few years its grown at The Mist and easily picked out by its many traits.
So there is no confusion only bullshit drama if you don't want to take my professional opinion don't thats fine our Bubba hybrids stay sold out and
fill the jars at MMC's and growers love them.
But one thing I also know is you rarely change someones mind some people are gonna think what they want they others are going to grow Dank and be happy about it.

Thats my take on it.

pre-98 bubba is definatly going around the PNW. i had trouble finding it in so cal but ive found it a few times since i moved to oregon. pre-98 bubba is the original bubba, and i am 100% certain it has chemdawg in it. ive heard a number of stories about the origins of bubba, and none of the storys involved northern lights, mardi gras, or a guy who calls all his freinds bubba. from what i understand the majority of bubba kush being sold in so cal is a bubba kush/white rhino hybrid and I would not trust anything that comeones outa the mouth of anyone that works at or owns a dispensary down there, they will tell you anything to sell weed.

from talking to dreaddies and med growers from the emerald triangle i have learned that usually when someone like "bubba" comes forward claiming original ownership of one of the most popular strains, they are almost certainly full of shit, and are just trying to attract attention. i mean cmon its on Weedmaps tv.... they probably got a nice chunk of money from "The Cannassuer Dispensary" to run the bubba story on there youtube channel. not to mention the attention it brings to weedmaps. the dudes at weedmaps dont care about genetics they care about there 6 figure salarys. ill definatly trust subcool over this "bubba" guy.

on that note, i have been blown away by every tga strain ive grown so far and i cannot wait to get my hands on some of his pre-98 crosses. smoking on some bloodwreck dominant chernobyl atm:eyesmoke::eyesmoke:

good luck tho you probably wont need it :-P. i popped 2 seeds. both were female. one was JTR dominant, the other bloodwreck. both are a phenominal smoke. the bloodwreck dominant one is pretty stony for a sativa tho so even tho its killer smoke im thinking i will keep the JTR dominant pheno instead. the JTR pheno smells like limes and vinegar and has a nice mellow but potent sativa high. the bloodwreck pheno smells alot like trainwreck with a sort of jack herer like lemony twist, it is a very potent smoke with a head numbing stony high. both phenos look like theyve been dipped in sugar.

sorry about photo quality they were taken with a phone. right is bloodwreck dom, left is JTR dom.

Those are some nice looking plants...Didn't order from the attitude...I don't need to buy packs of 10 at a time, and attitude freebies and 420 promos were terrible this year..but I did get a 5 pack of Jilly bean from herbies...and getting ready to order Qrazy Train in a couple of weeks...so is that qush for sale now too? I could add that to the list...

So I keep hearing all this different pheno talk relating to TGA...seems like a lot of variation...as long as they are all good I am not too upset, but how do people keep straight what they have and what they don't...like what are the different phenos of a given strain...and what are their differences, and why are they so different?

Well you know how they say when you sleep with someone you're sleeping with everyone they ever slept with... same is true of cannabis :) All those genes of previous lineages are in there and can come out in any of the offspring unless the strain is backcrossed to bring out one pheno and repress the others genetically. I'm with you, as long as they're good I'm fine :)

Pheno's have nothing to do with TGA... any seeds you order from any breeder will have different phenos. If someone was to order "White Widow" because they smoked a dank bud and want that same bud back, they will probably be disappointed because there is no guarantee on getting that same tasting and looking bud. But that doesnt mean they won't find something worth keeping!

Only thing TGA has to do with phenotypes is that Subcool breeds his genetics to attempt and limit the amount of phenotypes you could possibly get, increasing chances of keeper phenos. But nature is random and most of the time we can't predict her. If anything I would say there is less variation among TGA strains, many strains with 5 or so pheno types each. Maybe that's why it seems like lots of variation.

Having a few known killer phenos in a 10pk is better than a possible killer pheno or 2 and then a genetic mess, a lot like how Blueberry is. IMO at least.

since we're all here growing TGA, I propose we as a rollitup community starts to make a "phenotype journal". Obviously we would have to document our grows from start to finish, But I think it would be beneficial if people could easily identify which parents traits are being displayed by their plant. this would involve a breakdown on growth speed, fan leaf shape (both early on and post maturity), pictures of bud structure, smell, taste, stretch numbers, etc. Obviously this isnt going to be the end all be all of TGA phenotypes, as we all grow in different environments, but its a step in the right direction for sure, and will help all of us further our cannabis knowledge (as well as our biology knowledge).

Sub, you should make TGA genetics Punnet squares lol.

Your describing our strain guide to be honest weve already performed the test thats how we actually write the strain info.

I know you've described them very well, but saying something something is more JTR dominant doesnt mean anything to beginners. I'm sure within 20 seeds many people will be fairly experienced in recognizing growth patterns and labeling dominant parent traits, but many other people dont. If it wasnt a federal crime to grow cannabis many of us would have overrun our house by now, just out of sheer curiosity and phenotype searching. Since the strains ARE being grown in mass, I think its only fair to try and share that knowledge (this includes pictures, write ups on strains with links to parental lineage including pictures, etc), as we are all fighting against the same federal limitations and social stigmas in our quest for dank.
