a 6 inch s&p td silent(have to wire it up your self...easy).hook up the fan to your filter and then run duct to your hood.only one fan, half the noise. or a 6 inch vortex hooked up to a dialed down speed controller,a little cheaper.

If you do not mount them and hang them with nylon straps they are quite quiet, once you hook up the ducting. IMO, Dollar for dollar Vortex may not be the quietiest but it will be the best bang for your buck.

If you can do the conversion, I am very happy with my Stanley blower.

Mine sits in the attic, but on the 1/2 plywood access cover between the attic and closet. I could cut down on most of the noise that resonates through the plywood by hanging the blower, but I haven't seen the need. Inside my cabinet I have a fresh, and by no means loud, desktop fan that is loud enough on it's medium setting to drown out the Stanley blower when listening from my bed 10 feet away. There are computers louder than this thing.

In other words, it is awesomely quiet. It moves plenty of air, and they are inexpensive.

You will never be able to completely remove the sound of rushing air, but I use insulated ducts, and I believe it helps quite a bit.

I have a 12V computer fan blowing to cool my magnetic ballast (outside) and a S&P TD silent 350 for exhaust (inside).
All I hear is the pc fan, not the TD.
