put me on the list too!! i've been taking chantix and am on day 4 without cigs... i have had one here and there, but it is a huge step up from smoking 2packs a day....

that chantix is amazing stuff though... i was taking it for over a week and smoking like normal... then one day i just COULDNT smoke a cigarette if i tried... so i threw the pack away... in a few more weeks, i'll be an ex-smoker, anti smoking nazi:mrgreen:

which hurricane do you speak of??... nah bro, they're nothing more than 2-3day storms... wouldnt stop my growing. my wife's half retarded cousin was over one day... i was doing yardwork, and he somehow went snooping into every corner of our house and found my grow:cuss::wall:.. i freaked and tossed my three plants and 72 sprouts...

then i went outdoor with 1 plant, and that fucker was stolen 2weeks before harvest... so i quit until i could set up a bad ass indoor op, which should be pretty close.

Only way is cold turkey. Just got to wake up one day and decide no more!. That's the easiest way.

Has worked for me numerous times!

I've made it for 10 weeks and 2 days so far. I have not cheated at all. Not even one single puff or intentionally walking through a someone else's smoke cloud. Some days are still worse than others. I have nightmares about smoking. I still often check my pockets to make sure I have my cigarettes and a lighter before leaving the house. A couple of weeks ago I found myself moving things around on my patio table looking for my smokes and ash tray. This is not over yet.

The "friend" that was trying to quit with me is back to a pack a day, so I bought him a pack. However, I didn't tell him. You see, I sabotaged every one of them in some fashion or another and slip one in his pack every opportunity that I get. Some explode, others stink terribly, a few spontaneously combust after a few puffs. I made it so that some won't light and others were impossible to draw a puff from. It took him 2 weeks to figure out that it was me. I'm still not done with that yet but he doesn't leave his pack laying around unattended when I'm around anymore.

I've been free of cigarettes for 72 days, 15 hours, 56 minutes & 54 seconds
I have not smoked 2,179 cigarettes since then, and I have saved a total of $566.79.

Hardest thing that I have ever done.

Congrat's man, I passed my 1 yr mark a month ago and still have small cravings. Stick to it and enjoy. Dude the nightmares were the worst . although they weren't nightmares. Just smoking dreams that made me feel guilty when i woke up, like I just smoked a cig . stick with it

We all know that nicotine virtually disappears from our systems within 24hrs, and it is the receptors that cause issues cause they are not getting their 'hit'.....:-?

Until they die down and give up... they will give you ALL hell!

If you are a heavy smoker, the biggest part is physical habit. 10 draws per cigarette.. 1 cigarette after every meal... 1 cigarette every hour or so..... 50 cigarettes a day.... add up how many times you do the whole 'puff motion' and times it by days... months... years and its no wonder its hard to quit.... it becomes a part of your life:-|

Smoking cigarettes is the only thing in life I feel I have no control over, and it is soooo so depressing, and I get so angry with myself because I feel so weak that I cant resist and quit.

Your mind is your worst enemy, it knows all your weak points, knows what to do and say to try and justify what you do....

"Ahhh its just one smoke, its not gonna hurt you, then we will go back to quitting again ok".... but as you know, it lies.

Cold turkey is the only way.

You have to look yourself in the mirror and say "F#ck this! I call the shots! I decide whether or not I smoke! Im not going to let some pissy little f#cken drug addiction be in control of me! If I want to quit, Im gonna quit and you cigarettes can go and get f#cked!!!" *nods*

For those of you wanting to quit, YOU ARE IN CONTROL! YOU KNOW IN YOURSELF THAT YOU ARE STRONGER THAN THIS!

And if the voice tries to tell you otherwise, tell it to shut the f#ck up!:finger:

Great job Solstice. Your over the worst of it. I had dreams of smoking off and on for like two years after I quit. What really sucks is feeling all guilty for smoking when you wake up and it was just a dream.

Watch the eating, I gained like 25 pounds when I quit smoking. Was thin my whole life until I quit.

Also make sure you know what your triggers are. It only takes one really shitty day to make you go grab another pack.

Good job again!

keep trying cheech, have faith in yourself. i quit 15 or more times in the 30 years i was a smoker. i've been cigarette free since oct. the best part for me is not hearing my kids bitch about bringing the grandbabies into a smokey house. i knew i was wrong for sharing second hand smoke with everyone.

If anyone is still paying attention, Sunday was 5 months of being a non-smoker for me. I have not cheated once, not even one puff. I quit cold turkey after smoking more on than off for about 35 years.

I had several quit buddies that are smoking again. While I still find the smell of the "fresh" cigarette smoke appealing, the smell of someone that just finished a cigarette makes me retch. Oh, how vulgar!

I still have nasty dreams and urges. This battle is not over yet.
