i got a friend growing in coco and hes in weeks 4 flowering and getting a bit of yellowing going on and overall not vibrant plants, i seen em and thought that he might have gotten lock out from over feeding because he feeds them with each watering which is every other day. he thinks hes underfeeding them the ppm's they need.

so hes going to up the ppms and see how they take, but i was under the impression that a plant should only be fed nutes once per week then water anytime they need it, but thats with soil, i dont have much expierence with coco, then i looked on boards and see that other people feed everytime too

i know this is only a little info and iam workin to get pics up but any help is great

Coco is notorious for lockouts. It is great when you know how to use it. Tell him to check the ppm of the run off before raising the ppms of his feed . If the run off ppm is within 200 of the feed than there shouldn't be an issue with lockouts, and it could be a calmag deficiency. If the runoff is insane high than flush... Then get back on track with regular feed

Pics are going to help.

Yes feed everytime;-)
I usually end up at 1.6-1.7EC. Some feed at a little lower.
Here's what your friend should do: Mix up a batch of nutes as normal. Correct ph to rite around 5.8-6.0. Feed, then check run-off. If run-off EC is lower then what you put in, up the EC.
If the run-off is higher, lower the EC and or feed with more nutrient solution every time.
So in general, work your way up to 1.5-1.7EC.
Water with enough nutrient solution every time to achieve about 20% run-off. And that is usually golden. Only real tricky thing sometimes with growing in coco, is getting the Ca and Mg levels correct. This is due to cocos unique cation exchange properties. But start with what I and patrickkawi37 recommended doing though. Let the run-off EC guide you, and a picture could help.

Flush with water and give 1/4 streghth nutes and a little cal mag after a day or 36 hours.Sounds like need little ph 6.0 run throughit!

we ended up flushing and checking our ppms which was really high and we kept flushing and they went lower. he wanted to know at what dosage to feed nutes again, and what should ppms look like after a flush. and with the cal mag, we had a question in how to add that to our 3 part general hydro feed plan, we gave 1.5 ml per gal in the resevior for possible next feed

If I was you I would not worry about ppm just starting out. Just use 1/4 strength nutes at first and ph your nutrient solution to 5.8-6.0. I have 70 coco/30 perlite so I feed first and water 12 hours later. everyday this schedule work up the nutrients from there. feed and water seem to keep the salts out little better. If you see leave starting to turn yellow up the feed a little.

I don't ever give nutrient strength advice in ppm's, because there are different meters out there, that use different conversion factors of EC.
What ppm meter does your friend have?
What WAS the ppm/EC he was feeding?
What Is your friends water ppm/EC like to begin with? Lemme know those things, and I'll be able to give you a more solid plan. I know coco well. I know the 3part well. I know how to use the 3part in coco well.
Look up "heads modified lucas" formula, which I think is the best for coco. But since you have the calmag already, I'll probably recommend a different formula.

thanks for the help we really need it, ok to answer your questions,

1. the meter is
Oakton Eco Tester TDS

2. in veg he said his ppm was high, i wasnt involved then but he tells me it was above flowering ppms like in the 1000-1200,which iam assuming could be the cause of his problems, were in week 4 flowering now and he said the ppms have been 700-800

3. water ppm at new location is 30-40
water at old location, where he was in veg was 250

the strain is og kush
