Hey I've been lurking around the forums latley and thought I'd start to grow. i contacted my dealer and he gave me 3 of his seeds not sure on what strain they are though. my question is how many cfls would i have to have to veg 2 or 3 plants atm i have 4 6500k 23w i bought for bout 16 bucks at walmart would that be enough for now? not quite sure how often i am gonna be able to upgrade the lighting since i have to take a 40 min drive to get them. Thanks alot in advance !:bigjoint:

well walmart wont carry the bigger cfls...go to a home depot to get them...get the biggest you can find....i got a cheap hps light at home depot...like a orange outside light for 40 bucks...works great for only a couple plants.... 1 70w chps mixed w 4 32w cfls

yeah im not sure if im able to get a hps light though would be kinda suspicious bringing that up into my grow area thanks for the advice though much appreciated trying to keep it stealth but yeah i dont have seedlings quite yet letting them germinate for a while atm i plan on getting atleast 4 more of these 23w cfls and a few 13w cfls you think that woulld work alright for say 2-3 smaller plants?

yea i thought the same... i have a stealth grow box in my closet... and the hps was quite simple.. and still stealthy...but if cfls are your choice they will work fine (the more the better)...use as many of the whiter one for the veg stage, and use the warmer oranger color ones for flower

How big of a growing space are you using? You typically want 7000 lumens per square foot. So divide the total amount of Lumens (Found on packaging), by the total amount of Sq ft, and thats your lumens per square foot.

Also, for vegetative growth you want the 6500K daylight spectrum and for flowering you want the lower 2700K soft white. You could use a mixture of both or start with all 6500K bulbs then switch to the 2700K bulbs for flowering.

Good luck with your grow!

no, no jornal....maybe i should have. I used some neat trix with thhis grow...like using yeast and sugar water to produce co2, and also used dry ice for a while. This plat started out as a tripod...It had 3 leaves to start with....hold on, you gotta see the stem on this thing...lemme go get some pics quick.

oops.......oh welll...anyways....the hps from homedepot is the kind that lounts up outside like a flood light... I had to get them to cut me some cord, and i had to buy a plug and wire it myself ( white to white..black to black....green to green) the bulb that came with it was 50 watt.. the ballast could handle a 70 so i bought a 70w to go in it...works fine...for less than 50 bucks!
