about 2 mo.
With a lot of work... not easily, if you don't have a job and go buy atleast 5 cases of jars you might be able to pull it off in a few months.
what makes it worth it for you???

well i dont even know what a pound goes for of shrooms, like 3gs? what do u think? i dont have a job, is it going to be harder then growing headies? that pretty easy to me lol

depends on your area. Depends if you have buyers... especially buyers with money if your trying to push a pound on them.
Personally I would sell an 1/8 for $20 1/4 for $40 1 oz for $130 QP for about $400 so an lb for $1200. Those would be the minimum prices I would slide for.

2 pounds in 2 months? Or just growing specifically?

But i doubt that it is harder than growing marijuana, if your growing marijuana to achieve optimal results anyway.

Yes, it would be very hard to acheve a pound. Mushrooms are a lot more work than growing pot. gotta prep all your lids with polyfill, pressure cook all of your jars for about 45+ min a piece. Inject all the jars and wait for them to colonize. Then you need to sterilize a shit load of vermiculite/coco fiber mix for that many mushrooms. Mix that and the jars into pans, wait for them to colonize. Put them in terariums (you would quite a few to make a pound in any time fast). and there you go.

Miriacle, I said a few month, more than two. And I said you better get 60 jars of the bat.

i produce in about 1-2 months depending on incbation

i have used verious methods, PF tek, casing, and bulk substrate. the easiest of course is the PF tek (verm, brown rice flour, water) 1/2 pint jar
spores -to- pf jars -to- fruit

with this method 1 12cc syringe will do 10-12 jars (1cc per jar)

i vary between 2-7g per jar dried, it depends on strain... contamination rates... if you do more than one flush... ect

i use ruber made tubs, larger ones not sure the size... that will fit about 24 of these 'cakes' after incubation (2-3 weeks at above room temp...) and simple LED rope lights above the clear top to show em which way is up

the biggest commercial shroom seyt up i have seen was producing 22lbs a month
this set up was a bedroom, with 3 of the 4 walls covered in fish tanks and each tank with 12-20 cakes. and the 4th wall had the glovebox/flowhood for inoculation and the closet was for incubation

with other methods like bulk substrate straw logs can take an extra month
spores -to- grain jars -to- pasturized organic straw -to- fruit

a 2ft long "log" of straw 6-8" in diam will produce 1lb+ DRY... but you can only fit one per "fruiting chamber"

i hope this helps.. GOOD LUCK

EDIT: shroom prices in my area (east coast) vary greatly from what i have seen
"dose" (1.5-2g) $20
3.5g $25-$45
the most i have seen a friend get was about $250oz

also.. the LOG method produces More weight but keep in mind the LARGER the mushroom "bed" the LARGER the mushrooms... so you could easily end up with a 7g mushroom. this might pose a problem when selling/dividing them as one person my not want a single 7g mushroom. and i hate to separate the cap and the stem so i tend to stick with PF tek when wanting mushrooms weighing a few grams or less, and the log method is better for creating larger mushrooms for things like mushroom chocolates...

mushroom chocolates around here go for about $15-$30 depending on how much is in it or how much the DEALER says is in it... when i make them i tend to put just a dose (around 2g, depending on the strength of the crop, seeing as lot of these go to first timers) usually over half of what goes in each chocolate is chopped fine and the rest is powdered. all powder seems to create a very quick trip, and all chopped seems to take a little longer to kick in

heat chocolate
fill each form 1/2 way with chocolate (i use ice cube trays)
add magic
stir with toothpick
top off
let cool
wrap

im high sooooo.... im gonna offer some more information that you didnt ask for. you're welcome

keep in mind growing mushrooms takes LESS LIGHT/ENERGY to grow than weed
they grow more weight per square foot per MONTH than weed
easy to automate
alot stealthier
most expensive parts jars and pressure cooker.. and they are REUSABLE
CHEAP to get started
easy to set up a continuous harvest
and most people who sell you your weed would love to trade for some dank mushies

for those who say its hard, i hope to change your mind... some find it a little more frustrating than growing weed because mistakes taken when growing mushrooms might not show immediately resulting in more wasted time waiting on results
(like not flame sterilizing your needles, you wont know ur contaminated for a week or 2 if your're lucky and know what you are doing)

BUT with patience and the right precautions you will be fine!
personally i think growing weed is much much harder and time consuming
(but marijuana was always my first love)

if anyone has any questions ill be happy to hijack this thread (jk)

Whats the easiest cheapest way to grow shrooms after spores are recieved. Do you have a list and directions?

EASIEST is the PF jar method (will post a link in a sec)
this method makes many substrate "cakes" that the mushrooms bloom from, and since each cake is separated from everything until fruiting it lowers your chance of losing your whole crop of 24-100's of jars (you will lose some, get over it)

starting out i would suggest this method, all methods are pretty much the same on cost level.. but the more advanced methods add more steps .. and more steps mean more chances to mess up.. so K.I.S.S when you start.

watch this series on youtube a couple of times, i think its a 4 part series.
it really is awesome
YouTube - Let's Grow Mushrooms! pf tek part 1
covers what parts to use when mixing jars, how to do a sterile inoculation, things like that, its easier to watch then then try to read about it

what you will need to start is to pick up as many cases of Jars as you want
widemouth mason jars, 1/2 pint (although others work, they colonize faster and make a shorter more STABLE cake when moving the tub around) around $1 per jar

a pressure cooker def helps! i have steam sterilized jars in a large pasta pot but it takes longer and your results will be spotty $60 at walmart

1-2 fishtank heaters, these are used to make incubators, take a rubber made tub fill the bottom with water and then put the heater in. then put another tub in (same size) and this float on the water. you put the jars (already mixed and sterilized, and shot up) into the second tub, set the heaters on 78 and walk away for a week or so. $20

the incubators will speed up the colonizing process

thats really the most expensive stuff... just depends on how big you want to go

also optional is a glove box or home made flow hood, for sterile procedures

so here is what you will spend
$1 a jar
$1 per jar for spores ($around $12 for 12cc's, should do 10-12 jars)
$.50 or less for the ingredients (brown rice flour, course vermiculite and spring water)
$2-$3 per jar

equipment wise-
incubator (heater, 2 x tubs) - $40
pressure cooker - $60 to $200 depends on how big you want it
glove box (clear tub, pair of thick rubber wash gloves, epoxy) $20

this is what i would say you'd need to get started, i started with less (no PCer, incubator, or glovebox) but to do it right, and get better results faster, splurge, spend the $100 and get what you need.

the HARDEST part is the inoculation and mixing, and its not hard at all.. once they are colonized and ready to be taken out of the jars and into the fruiting chamber everything moves fast... you will see little pins in a week and as soon as you see pins, in a week they will go from 1cm to around 7" with 3" caps. pick before they veil breaks (under the cap, they cover the gills) unless u want a cap or 2 for spore prints but you want to pick most before then ... or they will drop spores all over the chamber and cause contamination and just a general mess. also they are more potent if picked before sexual peak, arent we all?

you only use the jars for about 2 weeks before you take the cakes out of the jars, and then you can fill them back up and put em back in the incubator for a continual harvest

after your cakes are picked clean, dunk in cool spring water for 24 hours roll in new vermiculite and put back in the chamber, you can do this around 3 times before they contaminate, sometimes the later flushes will be larger and more potent... but increase the risk of contaminating in the chamber and contaminating the other cakes in the chamber... this technique is also showed in the video above

you can clone a mushroom you like to increase your yield or whatnot... pretty simple procedure after you get the rest down
sterilize a jar of Agar or malt (potato or sugar water), take a slice of fresh mushroom, plop it in there and wait for it to colonize, then you can inject that solution into the jars rather then just spores and all jars will be a clone. (will also speed up the process as you dont have to wait on the spores to germinate in the jar. like with MJ)

i really just summarized this as simply as i could, this isn't a clear step by step. but if you watch that movie and a few other ones it links to on youtube then you will be fine. i read instructions on the net for about 3 years before i tried it and it never REALLY clicked until i saw a video of someone doing it, explains it a lot better..

hope this helps and good luck!
