Quick question about seeds

Hey everyone. First off, I'm not sure that this is the right place to post this question as it's not directly related to plant growth but here goes.

So basically I ordered some seeds and they're set to arrive within the next couple days. However, due to previously unforeseen circumstances, I'm not going to be able to be home for the next 3 days. This means that the seeds will sit in my mailbox until I can get back home. My mailbox is outside the house and is made of metal so I'm pretty sure it will get really damn hot in there.

My question is will the seeds being exposed to such a high temperature for 1 or 2 days have any negative effects on them? I'm worried that it will somehow ruin them. I looked on USPS's website and it doesnt look like I have the option of having them hold the package till I get back.

Any insight will be appreciated, Thanks.

I'll come by and get them. What's yer address again? .LOL.

Um.....is there a way to insulate/shield the metal from the sun? Keep the metal cool...keep the box cool. That's probably what I'd look at.

Let us know when you pop them, I hope they are fine.
I know a guy that moved to vegas and left seeds in his hot 92 avg temp garage for the summer not realizing how hot it would get, probably didn't cross his mind being from a state with cooler temps. It was the only time I had seeds probably about a hundred that were all dead. Not sure if that killed them, it was the only thing we could think of.
