Quick Question about Getting a Card

So I have chronic pain in my knee, I had reconstructive surgery on my knee november of 2009 and I had check ups with the doctor until about march 2010. Is this recent enough for visits on my records? I have been told they need stuff more recent but I have also read on the THClinic that records need to be within 3 years? So i'm pretty confused, any advice from an actual card holder in Oregon?

the doc visists have to be with in the last 3 years. the paper work from the docs has to be at least 30 days apart so you cant see your doc 2 times in 10 days and use that as 2 documents, it will only be one.
you will be fine man. just take in all your paper work from the docs that are dated from 2008 and up after todays date and you will be fine

^^ What he said^^ I had a partial knee replacement and several other surgical proceedures, my records were from 2-3 years back. It was easy! WEnt through MAMA.

I had a total knee replacement and the main reason people have the procedure is to "get rid of the pain." The last of my problems is my knee. I've had 10 knee jobs and chronic basically did squat for it. I've never even considered ganja for my knee.

My card is for gastro issues...severe nausea.

But a card for my knee causes tremendous giggles for me. Can you picture the headlines a-coming?

The Portland Trailblazers report today that BRoy will be out for a couple weeks while he smokes OG Kush #18 to help combat pain to his chronically problematic knees. Team doctors indicate that hopefully Brandon can scale back to a softer regimen of Banana Haze or some Doggies Nuts."

I normally don't need the smoke for my knee if I am being inactive, then it is more for anxiety and appetite for me. However, when I am being as active as I am now then the chronic pain comes back and I need the smoke for that. Before my surgery I didn't smoke when I was active because my metabolism was obviously better and I was in higher spirits with myself, then when I got my injury (torn lateral and medial meniscus, my MCL was very thin and my ACL was partially torn, and throw in a fracture in my cartilage haha) and wasn't able to be as active I got down on myself, not depressed but more feeling just "lazy" and "useless" , you know? After rehab and now being active again I have had pain in my knee that I obviously didnt have before the surgery. Doctor prescribes me percocet and low dose morphine pills, and while I have tried them since my surgery when I am not able to smoke, I am rather afraid of pills because of accidental overdoses and the side effects (not to mention addiction possibilities) so the smoke helps with the pain in that way.

Before my surgery cannabis was more of just a recreational do it every once in a while thing, a dub would last me nearly a month! Now that I have had my surgery I have become a heavier smoker (about an OZ a month) and rather than grow and posess it illegally I would rather get legal and not have to worry about it. Wouldn't even need the full 6 plants, just enough to keep my own personal stash (marijuana and money stash lol) full and help my knee calm down at the end of the day.

Hey was going to PM you to ask if your older records were good enough or not. In 2003 or 2004 I had rotator cuff reconstruction surgery. The first few years afterwords it was great but I eventually it began to cause me pain while working and eventually it became a continuous dull pain that gets worse with use. About a year ago I had 4 visits with my primary doctor, was prescribed some vicodin, had an xray but they showed everything on the xray was ok. They couldn't do an MRI(i think) because scar tissue from surgery would block their view. At my last appointment I was referred to Physical Therapy which I never attended because I didn't have health insurance. I have been using marijuana to help with the pain and sleeping through the night. So I notice you still frequent the forms, let me know!

Have you tried it as a topical rub? I have a liquid mixture of THC, arnica and oil. This helped with my knee pain..I have had 8 procedures on my knee to date, the last one a partial interior replacement. This replaced the loss of the interior meniscus and trhe arthristis that moved in. My pain now is mostly from trying to get my leg muscles back into shape after all the surgeries. The topical rub wasn't as effective as oxiconton, or oxicodone..But then I'm not walking around drugged up either.

Another mixture to think of would be THC ,Arnica with a delivery system of DMSO.,

now i haven't got my card for it yet or anything so don't quote me, 'tis just a thought. but maybe they want more documentation of the "chronic pain" in your record rather than documentation of the surgery and ensuing healing pains? At least this is what I am doing. I have plenty of records for knee pain before my surgery, for my surgery and then the appointments after my surgery, but the after surgery appointments were more just check ups on the procedure itself and making sure my knee was healing correctly rather than checking in on the pain (though I did voice I still have pain)

i have decided to hold off on getting my card quite yet until I go in more for the pain in my knee rather than the after effects of my surgery. However, I have to wait until I start my new job and get some insurance again so I can head to the doc again.
