I was just thinking on the throne and was thinking about my new setup. (recently move) Thinking about where I would dry I remembered my brother used to make beef jerky ina dehydrating machine. The thing only cost about $40. Anyone ever use one of these to dry bud?

All of the time, effort and patience waiting for the greatest smoke ever only to throw it into a food dehydrator? What a waste. Unless the circumstances call for it I suggest you dry your buds normally.

I use some deccisant to dry my mushies, works good. I tried drying some bud with it and its bone dry just the way I like it after 2 days, and just a bit harsh too. Just get a tamp trap from dollerama and put the bud right on top put the whole thing in a piece of tupperwear and wait. The damp tramps cost a dollar each, so u be saving some good cash money :)

What about if you only dry it down to 25% of the wet weight then jar cured it? Wouldn't the jerky machine still cut out a step?

I read somewhere, that this is how to quickly dry after a water cure. Water curing can be done is as little as 1 week and 6 hours of jerky machine time.

Water curing is dunking the buds in an open bucket of water. soaking for an entire week. While changing the water daily and keeping it in the dark. Then taking it out on the seventh day to dry. It makes a smooth higher percent thc purple dank crop.
