I am mixed on how i want to setup my light/ventilation system. I KNOW, i am no artist but i figured this would be the easiest way for me to get it across to the RIU Posse, its better than me babbling on.

I am not to sure if this will even work??? can I have to 6 in. HO canFan's running off one canFilter? Please criticize and comment however you like. This Setup will be hanging over 2 8x4 flood and drain trays if anyone is wondering.:bigjoint:

lol...............the guy next to me asked me what i was drawing. The air will be stinky warm air from the room being sucked through the carbon filter then through the lights and finally out of the room.

Anybody think this system will work? are the fans going to be enough to pull the air efficiently? or will the filter be overworked and wear quicker?

It seems to me that the filter might not allow for enough airflow (I'm not actually calculating numbers, just a "feeling"). Also, 2 ducts going into one is going to put a lot of restriction in the system, unless the one your going into is bigger. It would stink if both your fans together were only moving the air of one fan. Just my 2 cents though

Oh, btw... I do like your design and idea though :)

Yea he's right. Since you have two different duct runs with two lights ea., and two fans... why not two intakes, one for each two light run. I guess you would have to have two filters then but you are most definitely limiting your ventilation with the one intake and output for the run, especially if all the ducting is 6 inches. However say the intake/output was 12in ducting or something split into two 6 inch ducts and then back to 12... you might not limit air movement.

Thank you smoote and mr. josh. Thats the feeling i was havin too but thought id throw it out there to see what thoughts on it were. Maybe splitting it into two exhausts would put less strain. Was hoping the filter was enough and didnt have to get another, ha! shit never works. Thanks again for the 2 cents, think i might just set it up as is and see what happens. Flip the switch and close your eyes.....................

i would think it would work fine it will work better if your lead ducts are 8 or 10 inch then down to 6 for the lights

rollin stoned: i would eliminate the filters from the lights an use the ho 6" fans for the lights only, drawing cool are in threw the lights
an exhausting heated air out the room. i would then get a fan an filter thats matches your room an exhaust that out the room. you have to get a
fan that is compatiable to the filter. if the fan is too big for the filter, its not going to be able to neutralize the air properly.

Yea if your one intake is large enough to give at least 6in in ducting for each 2 light run you most likely will not restrict flow and will be fine.

If its 6in to two 6in runs there will be a restriction. But really you have two fans so you're going to have plenty of air movement, i was just stating that you will have a restriction with that current design and that you could make it more efficient, meaning you will probably have enough flow just it could be better  thats all.
