Questions and Critiques

I'll cut to the chase, I'm getting a house soon and I'll have this area to work with... (attached).

Now my technical questions:

1) What kind of fan rating am I looking for in regard to an exhaust and intake? Or do I even need an intake? The flowering room is 128 cu. ft. Also, how long will it run? I'm assuming that both of these questions are correlated.

2) The flowering room will be an aeroponic system with a SOG method (not really straight from clones, but an even height vegged plants for an even canopy). With that in mind, I have questions about the pump(s). Would you all recommend having three small pumps or one big pump? I ask because I have a feeling three smaller ones might be more efficient for equal distribution.

3) I plan on growing a heavy indica strain, so with that in question, what would be your best estimate to how long I should veg them after taking 3-6" clones? I'm thinking 2 weeks? They will be lollipopped for optimal space usage.

If you feel there is something I've overlooked, please point it out to me. I'm one to make plans well in advance and having everything mapped out, so I want to plan for everything. Also, suggestions are welcome as well as questions.

Thanks for the help!

One pump if one strain. Far easier to maintain consistent atomization for all plants. I would buy a smaller/cheaper just as backup. With DWC the roots are in water so if the pump fails it's not quite so urgent. So why air? Just wondering.

Veg for 2 weeks? That long? They will be midgets when harvested.

Not trying to be an ass here but have you grown before?

I was thinking more along the lines of 1 res and 3 small pumps. I feel that if something broke down it would be easier to fix having three separate areas. It would also spread the risk that if one thing fails, it all doesn't fail. So I would still have the same nutrients going through, just delivered differently.

I have not grown my own before, but I did help set up and maintain a buddy's operation. This was a few years ago, so my numbers may be off, but if I remember right his were growing 4-6 inches a week. Isn't that about right (strain depending of course).

so you want to flower about 12 inch lollipopped clones?? understand you will take the clone and it will take a weekish before they are rooted and actually growing so your looking at three weeks from the date the clone was taken to get two weeks of growth? better be running about 20 of em or it wont be worth it imo..your looking at about a quarter ounce..half if you do reaaaally good, per plant so to pull an at least respectable harvest of 4 zips your looking at like 16 plants....this is not my prefered style to grow and i dont get why as a new grower you would take such an approach.....buy a bag of dirt and learn the plant first!! then you can learn different methods and set ups once you know the plant..do some lst learn how the plant grows and how it buds and what you can make a plant do and produce..good luck anyway if you try to lollipop a bunch of little clones.....with what your suggesting your better off just buying fem seeds and growing a bunch of single cola plants from seed and vegging early, would take less time and more sturdy plants as well..but honestly i wouldnt even suggest that if you have a large room like that you grow real plants lol...that lollipop crap and flowering little mini plants under a compact flouro is for people with no space or kids in their room at their parents house trying to comp cab it up lol

There's going to be 16 of them, and you're right when I said veg for 2 weeks doesn't include the time to root from clone.

Not sure where you got the idea of compact flouro.
