Questions about my seedlings stretching

I don't know if they are technically seedlings now because they are almost 3 inches tall but.... They have only been getting about 5 hours sunlight a day and have really tall lanky stems with only the first leaves starting to separate from the cotyllin(?) leaves. There are 3 different strains, two indicas and one sativa but they all have that think long lanky stem. It's probably early stretching because they don't get enough light.

I see other people with pics that look like they have several sets of leaves on 3 inch plants, which looks nice and healthy.

My question is, when I move these out to the grow site and they start getting regular sun will they adjust and slow down the stem growth and let themselves catch up? These stems really need to slow down and thicken up or it will be a weak point for the plants.

I had this problem for awhile when I left some seeds on my porch. they got about 4-7 hours of light depending on the weather. If youput them in adequate lighting they will become bushier and stronger. You could also try burying them up to the cotyledons when you transplant. This should minimize the weak points for the stem.

The problem all stems from the plants not receiving enough light, this is happening because for 5 hours they are receiving light, the other time of the day they are not so they are looking for light, stretching upwards in the hope to find it, plants like 18 hours during the veg stage, and 12 hours during the flowering stage

While stretching for light, high heat can increase stretching greatly

I was wondering if out doors where is there 18 hours of light at other than Alaska or somewhere. I live in the south and we at most only get 14 hrs.
