I have a 4 foot long shop light,Its 2 fluro tubes.I want to cool it down,It gets hot beleive it or not, question is what part gets hot?I thought about running a home made water cooler to a resevoir.I just dont know wich part of the light gets really hot..Im guessing the bulb lol.So is there an easy way to air cool this unit with MINIMAL noise?any ideas are greatly appreciated.

you stupid. i hate to say it like that but your heat is not from the flouros if you want to cool them put a 10$ fan on top of it. and the ballast inside the casing is what gets hot. but more than likely tour heat is coming from else where i dont care how many flouros you got in a closet there should be no heat unless its a t5 then i apologize for calling you stupid

Its no problem.I guess ill have to just mount a fan to it or something.I dont know what a desk fan of sorts would do but blow hot air around,Ima going to look into a fan that blows into my attic, little squirrel fan maybe.

get a box fan angle it so theres a steady current. make sure theres good ventilation. and if that doesnt work but your on a low budget, you can get ice packs and place them behind the fan. they last about 4 to 5 hours. if you can get a cheap air conditioner itd be a lot easier, and make sure you dont get one that kills your electric bill. you dont wanna run a grow op if its not making or saving any money.

I got a small 4 inch can fan sucking the hot air next to a 400w mh out of the closet and through a small carbon filter and out to room with exhaust fan in window cooling. Keeps its perfect, so depending on how resticted you are in your set up. Are you supplimenting an already existing light? Are you gonna do a whole grow with that light? Exactly how hot are we talkin? Pretty much anyway you look at it you need to duct if heats an issue.

most t12 systems run cool enough the plant can touch the bulb and the ballast should make almost no heat, certainly not enough to cause problems. You need to ditch this one and find a different one thats similar but runs cooler like the majority of t12 fixtures and bulbs ive had.

Sounds to me like dude has a "sealed" room environment. He's just blowing around hot (warm) air.
Dude, you gotta suck the air out of that space and blow it elsewhere, and you gotta make a hole somewhere to allow fresh air to enter. Not only to allow cool air in, but the plants need air exchange. Floros just do not get THAT hot.

God forbid you should go to HID lighting, you'd have some real heat issues. MJ can withstand some pretty warm temps, but your odor is gonna increase exponentially with the temps.

Interesting, i assume you mean magic mushrooms? where did you buy your spores from? I've been thinking about trying growing shrooms for a while now and if i knew a reputable source for spores that would bring me 1 step closer to it.
