Questions 4x4 scrog

I've been lurking on the site for quite a while now and I've decided to start growing again so my plan is this, I'm gonna run a 1 plant dwc that's connected to my aquaponic, vermiponic system indoors, the strain I'm running is bangi haze from ace seeds what I'd like to do for lighting is a 4x4 scrog using bridge lux or Samsung strips, my budget is right around $300.00 I can go over if necessary. which strips should I get? And in what length? And what driver would you guys recommend? Thank you guys for taking your time out to give me some assistance, this seems like a very supportive community.

Ten of the Samsung F-series 44" single row strips is $239. A pair of HLG-240H drivers are ~$65 each. Frame cost is under $20 if you just use 3/4 architectural aluminum angle. 480W of top bin Samsung light for ~$400... Can't beat that. Bridgelux EB cost $14 each (for 44") but you need twice as many for the same amount of light.

Nice this is exactly what I was looking for, haven't placed the order yet, was waiting on the beans to arrive in sure the strips are on digi key, however that website is hard to search on would you mind posting the links to the driver and the strips? Thanks again

You may want to raise your fish count or increase their feeding schedule if you go with high quality led strips. Dimming the strips down might also help keep everything in equilibrium. Aquaponics sometimes struggles to keep up with the nutrients needed for flowering plants. I'm really interested to see it work though. I've tried it on a micro scale

Thanks nfhiggs that was a huge help, strips and drivers are ordered there's a 2 week back order on the 35k light but the seeds should have arrived and be sprouting by then

how did your test run turn out grouch? And I'm running 20 goldfish that are a few inches long right now. Before I started building my set up I did some research on some Bennificial bacteria and fungus that are supposed to make the plants be able to utilize the nutrients better, I added them to my flow through worm bin connected to the system about a month ago, I'm hoping that will counteract the nutrients that the fish are lacking.... But time will tell

My test run didn't turn out well because it was cfl and unknown seeds. It was mostly just for fun to make it work, which it did. I kept losing fish to the solid lifting overflow but fixed that with some craft mesh. If I were to retry it with my current lights it would turn out much better.

How does the flow through worm bin work? Red wigglers? Do you feed them to your fish too?[/QUOTE ill go over how it works tonight or tomorrow with pics .. I have red wigglers and Canadian night crawlers and yea the worms have just started hatching so I tried it the other day the goldfish are trying to eat them. Other than that I feed them algae wafers with alfalfa for some organic hormones. They keep the algae in control as well

you should give it another run, I think organic hydroponics is the way to to in the future the only maintenance is adding water really and yea I loose fish as well, I'm gonna steal your idea of the overflow cover, it's a hassle keeping up with the fish.

Bben wondering lately how the samsung strips compare to quantum boards in output and cost. QB on amazon 2 packs for $150. So, 2, 2 packs on 2 hlg-240h-c2100s compared to the setup you described? Or, 4 packs of QB 132, on 2 hlg-240h-c1750s. The 4 packs are $133.

I do 3x3 scrogs with QB boards. I have built samsung strip lights for others with the same diodes. They work awesome for tent scrogs when you run the lights closer.

The finished one below was my first round with this plant and I overestimated it’s stretch so it wasn’t quite as full as I wanted. The current one I just started flowering (first pic) should be much better. I would not try this in a 4x4 as it would be a pain to reach the back. That finished plant never saw more than 150w.

Have you looked at th ELG 240 series. 0.5% efficiency difference. For the price difference, as your on a budget they might suit you better.

Just amazig. How long veg and what was yield under 150W as I undertand?
