I have found that MG can very easily burn your plant. MG has all kinds of fertilizers available. The one I have heard works ok on this is the patio food MG. Too much N for flowering I think. I have been doing experiments with various ferts. MG was one of the first to get tossed out. I was using it at a 1/4 dose and still had burn. This stuff just does not like it.

Justin 121: If you were growing in soil I'd say yes but I think now in a hydroponic set up, even an Aerogarden, it could be chancy. I used Miracle grow when i grew in dirt but I haven't used it in my A/G's because that's not what it's designed for. You can get 24 hour shipping from both Aerogarden and most hydro retailers, if you want to pay for it. In any case please let us know what happens.

Justin,

A couple of things.....

A.) You have to treat your plants in a cycle. During veg, your lights are on 18 hours a day, and off for 6. During flowering you decrease that to 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness. Until you shorten that time, your plants will never flower. It will always be in vegatative state.

B.) During the 1st week to 2 weeks of flowering is when you will be able to determine sex of your plant. Right now at this stage, there is no of knowing what it is. If you are using bagseed its highly likely it probably will be a male.

Hope this helps

A half pound on the aerogarden? I can assure you that didn't happen. As far as switching it to flower, I usually veg out for about 3 weeks then switch to flowering. Keep in mind your plants don't really grow until flowering....they'll usually triple - quadruple in size.

You can start flowering anytime theoreticly, but you may want to wait until your plants have vegged 4-6 weeks. Looking at your plants they are a couple weeks old now right, let em go a while longer till you have at least 4 or 5 sets of leaves, when you put your plant to flower it will double or even triple in size, also very important when you switch light cycles you must make sure that NO LIGHT gets to your plant complete darkness for 12 hours, if you don't have complete darkness your plant will not flower or it could hermie. Good luck

On the front of mine is an indicator light that says when to add nutrients. I have never grown my crops in my AG I just use it to start seedlings in then transfer them to net pots in my bigger tanks, the AG is too small, the bigger the roots the bigger the plant, when they get done the stem at the bottom is at least as big around as the hole on your AG, check out the pictures back in the forum about showing off your grow and look at some of the roots

Justin 121: without a label on top of your planting cage don't be surprised if before long you see white mold growing on your grow pod. You can solve that with a thirty cents two inch white plastic basket cover from your local hydro store.
