I know that I have posted this in the newbie section, but I though I may get some other input on the question here also!!

I just picked up some new clones, and they are in solo cups with soil.. I really wanted to run DWC setup is there any way that I can remove the roots from the soil and put them into a dwc system? All help will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks

whats up buddy j i would gently take it out of the soil and wash the roots really good and then nestle it in the hydroton. i have done it before they will prably look a little weak at first droopy and what not but they will bounce back.

...I would use room temp water, anyway to prevent "more" stress is good. Try to keep as much of the roots as possible....good luck.

This is an absolute necessity. If you can, use two 5 gal buckets. Place about 3 gal in each one and let the water sit about 24 hours. It wouldn't hurt to add a 1/4 tsp or 5 ml of SuperThrive to the second bucket. When you're ready, place the root ball in the first bucket and let it soak up some water. Then start gently breaking the ball up and allow the soil to fall away. Swirl the plant/roots in the water until all the soil has left the roots. Then do a rinse in the second bucket and move your plant to your DWC set up.

You can skip the second bucket, but a rinse and ST will really help the plant get over the shock of having it's roots exposed and washed. If you have more than one plant, definitely use the rinse bucket option, or at least set up a few wash buckets.

Hey thanks everyone for the help.. I think I'm going to give this a try this weekend and see what happens. I think I may only do it with only one of each kind that I have so that way is anything bad does happen I don't have to lose my strains.
