That really depends on the soil and the size pot. Usually after your first watering you can get a weight of the pot with water in it and water according to that. Some use a knuckle method basically putting your finger into the soil and if its dry up to your knuckle water if its moist then dont water it. Make sure the top soil looks dry and go from there. If your really having problems get a cheap moisture meter. Remember its easier to correct a underwatered plant vs a plant that has been overwatered.

The plant will only need one watering a week.If you start watering every couple of days the plant will not have a very good root system.You need to water and then let dry repeat the process all the way through the grow.Make the plant work for the water by sending out spredder roots searching out water.The bigger the root system the bigger the yeild.
