Question on the end of Flower cycle

So I recently flowered 12 purps, and at about 7 weeks the trychomes were cloudy and for financial reasons i cut everyone but 2 down, They looked completely done. Then like 2 days later i added another 1000watts of HPS, and slowly the 2 purp plants i had in there still started to grow tons of new white hairs, after they had seemed to completely stop growing before i added the light. My question is, could the added light be the reason for the late extra growth, and were the plants i cut premature or did they just kind of restart growing because of the additional light? Thanks for any advice! If anyones interested i can get some pics of the plants tomorrow

this is a semi-normal occurance in cannabis. i've had plants start a lot of new growth really late, and i kinda just rolled with it. i had made no changes to the environment.

it's really the choice between yield and quality, and there's no clear answer. since you already cut the others, why not let these go crazy until they're way done.

there's also products that can force the plants to go into preharvest overdrive...
