Question, growing in DWC, have bottom yellow leaves and leaves feel brittle to touch!

:???::???::?::?:Remember, I am a newbie, god I have so much to learn!
Ok, so I started a grow in DWC, had some problems starting out, but with the help of my fellow growers on this forum that I believe is the best forum I have been on, actually it is the only forum I use now, because of the people here eager to help newbies like me, I haven't gone back to 420, grass city, marijuana passion, etc.... I have stayed here because even though I am a newbie, people actually responded and did save my grow. Thank you cc dobbs and sun king for suggesting the Hempy and Lucus methods. I was suggested to put the remainder of my seedlings in a soilless dirt mixture, which I did, added just some azomite for trace minerals, and foliar fed this past week with a little super thrive and liquid karma, and they are doing good. They are still seedlings so I am being careful not to over water, and I am using ro water. Just misting them a few times a day. Does anyone recommend that I use any other amendments to my soil. I am just using three Hydro Farm coco mix bags, the kind you add a gallon of water to and wait an hour and put your plant in, it didn't work out that way though, I had to take the coco out and add more water because there were just clumps of compacted dry soil. Keeping them in the humidity dome was killing them, I believe they were retaining to much water, but they are doing good now. Should I just keep misting them, or should I actually water the entire pot, it is 10"x10"x7". I am so afraid of under watering or over watering them. I placed those in last week, and it has saved my seedlings, but because they are seedlings, like I said before, I just mist them, if anyone has any suggestions about watering and amendments I would like to hear your advice because everything I am suggested to do, seems to have worked, so I do consider your advice valuable. And it is much appreciated! Now, my problem with the DWC kit, I bought a stealth kit, growers choice for beginners, I did what popcorn900 suggested and placed the two other seedlings in the two openings for the netted pots, and even though they were a week apart, they are doing well also, even though they both had one single root at the bottom of the rock wool cube.
Now the problem is I have these yellow leaves and the plant leaves feel brittle to the touch, can I ask any advice what is causing this? I will show pictures. I am using Flora Series in the DWC kit, and have used it at quarter strength for the first resovoir, I changed it 8 days later, I was sick, not out of laziness that I was sick in bed after receiving my chemo treatment. By the way, Marinol sucks butt! It makes me feel worse! My doctor finally prescribed it because I have said in the past, I hate taking narcotics. I would rather roll a fatty, but all there is around where I live is shitty seed weed that cost up to $200.00 an ounce. And forget the good weed, which is just ok compared to the medicinal weed at Harborside in Oakland, California, it puts the expensive weed they say is medicinal to shame and that costs $400.00 and up around here and is hard to find. Sorry to go off topic, I hate the Midwest and illegality of it where I live now, it sucks. The only thing that does help me is illegal here, it's so stupid and unfair. Weed should be legal, I'm sick and it is the only cure to help alleviate my symptoms. There answer is far more dangerous, by prescribing me methadone and morphine, really? They think that is less dangerous than weed, when it does nothing to help but put me to sleep, so I try to go without it most times.
I had some slime when I changed the resovoir, luckily I have two kits, so I used the unused one, cleaned everything out, and I am pretty anal about cleanliness, got new hydro farm air pumps and two more air stones, I still need a decent pump though, the one I have now throws 7.8 lpm per minute. I was thinking of getting v-10 to throw more bubbles. I bumped up the General Hydroponics Flora series to half strength, cleaned with 1/4 strength Nute solution. The ph is at 5.75 and upped my nutes to ppm of 256, just the micro, grow, macro, then after adding the rest, I added silica, a dash of liquid karma, rapid start, floralicious plus, florablend, Aqua Shield, ending ppm was 356. I have a lot of cfls around my plant, 6500k sylvania throwing 100 watts. Do I have too many cfls, is that possible? My humidity is around 50% and temp is 70%. I have fans running in my grow room, should I keep them further from my plants? I read that plants do get windburn. Should I put them further away.
Also, as I stated before, I have read so many conflicting things about slimy roots and prevention. Right now I am just using Aqua Shield. Is that good enough? I do have Actinovate, Grow-Tek h2o2, Serenade, and SM-90, does anyone ever combine any of these, I have read so much contradictory bs, I am not sure what to do, but I don't want brown roots, they had slime, so I flushed them, and they are pearly white again, but the bottom yellow leaves and brittleness scares me, if anyone has any advice that is constructive, I would really appreciate it. Like I said, I am a newbie with DWC, I had no idea the difficulty involved, the guy at stealth hydro made it seem so simple, it is more work than anticipated. So thank you Sun King and CC Dobbs, I am glad I put the rest in coco, I like the hydro farm bags, but I don't like the plastic, I which I would have bought smart pots and put coco in them.
Sorry for the long post, I truly apologize bugging you guys, I have found some really cool people here, that I do trust and respect, I don't want to be a bothersome pest, I just want to know what I am doing wrong to cause the yellowing and brittleness. Thanks in advance for any help! Katimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

Your killing them Indicakat. Flush them and just use ph'd water and they should come back. Sorry about not getting back to you earlier. I have been having trouble around here. First my journal gets deleted then my friends list got purged by who I don't know.
But back to you, that is definitely a nute problem you burnt them plants pretty good but if you flush them and just use ph'd water for a couple of days they should come around. Put a cap full of aquashield in each bucket as well to stimulate root growth it should help.
I'm glad to here your doing better now welcome back.

I see you're using the tote and not your bubblers so ya flush the tote and use some aquashield and in a few days they should be bouncing back. You can use some nutes but very weak dose.

You think it is Nute burn, I will flush, god I'm tired of flushing, lol! You live and you learn. I have 4 of those seedlings in dwc, and the rest in those hydro farm bags, just giving them ro water and 8th strength liquid karma and thrive alive b since I transplanted them into soil, so the 4 plants have been in dwc for two weeks, the other two seedlings I did as you suggested, just put them in the netted pots I had one root I could see, but is just put those in the other two a few days ago, and they aren't dead thankfully due to nutes. So when do I introduce nutes? I went through the flora series, and only gave them an eighth of what was suggested! Thanks for the help, I missed you, is your grow journal up again, I have looked for it and it was mia, hope it is back! Want to see all the things I'm doing wrong! Big hugs, great to hear from you! Small plants don't need much food. I have only dosed my plants once since start and it was weak maybe a 1/3 of recommended strength. Ya Indicakat I know so many members telling you this and telling you that it's a wonder you haven't killed them yet lol. Just flush the tote and start fresh with ph'd water and some aquashield and a small dose of nutes they should come around. They got burnt good but they're not dead so you can bring them around but there almost a month old now? I wonder how much this stress will affect them? I guess we will have to wait and see. My journal is gone and I'm not going to start another, also my friends list got purged too by who? I don't know. So now I'm trying to figure out who all I befriended and am resending the friendship req out.

Like I said in another thread bout atheism, you take what you want and can throw the rest away, but mostly it has been good constructive knowledge and criticism and like I have always said, all knowledge has to have a start. If anyone did their first door dwc grow perfectly without help, I praise them, cause it is more difficult than I expected, but the challenge of learning a new thing, keeps me busy, helps me stay focused in a positive light. It keeps my mind in a positive light, and I'm learning with every mistake, so when I do my next grow with the 6 -5 gallon buckets hopefully I'll have it down by then, it's like taking little baby steps. I have setbacks, but I'm not going to give in the towel. Just like I did when I found I was sick, I wanted to die, and the negative thinking got me no where, so I am treating this grow the same, keeping a positive attitude. Shit, it is much better to do something, anything than to just sit around and feel sorry for yourself, it gets you no where! Yes, you are on my friends list, please pm me some pictures, I would love to see where you are in your grow and see your plants compared to mine. By the way, I did think it was too much nutes, too much nitrogen, the leaves are curled down and brittle, I sure the hell know they are not praying for magnesium! Thank you for your help you are a great friend, ps....so weird about your journal going "poof" into thin air?

Thank you tip top toker, it just seems like what the hell, they are almost three weeks old, maybe, we'll I know I have stunted them myself by adding nutes, I appreciate your help and advice. So thanks, just a little positive input can go a long way, especially from a senior member, when I found out I had cancer, I wanted to just give up, and thankfully I came around and fought and I am getting better, I am treating my first indoor grow with dwc the same way. I am going to learn from senior members and get this down, just like I am getting better, hopefully my plants will to, thanks again for your help!

Best wishes for a complete and speedy recovery, and relief thanks to your home grown meds. Though dwc and hydro are what everyone thinks of as yielding better than soil, for a newb, soil is nearly goof proof. And when you're no longer a newb, soil is simply much less time consuming.
