question from noob

HEy Guys if you were given a choice which would you buy a 150w HPS or a 90w LED UFO(equivalent to 400w HPS so they say)????? thanks

Ive never used LED but i started out with a 150 w hps i grew a cutting of banana og and i was very satisfied but it probaly was its genetics.

Me too, never used LED and never will, thy're too new and I read a lot abt problems and they cost too much.

Unless heat or power consumption is an issue, I do believe that HID is better than LED.

You also might want to look at a MH/HPS combo, or a dual spectrum lamp.

They would have to be able to prove to me that the 90w LED blub is really equivelent to the 400w HPS. Because I just dont believe it, I am a Master Electrican by trade and I just dont see it giving off the same lumins and light spectrum as that 400w HPS. I would go with what you defineatly knows works and that 150w HPS may be small but, it has worked for many of us.

Same with Dee. Let them work out the new tech kinks. Out of curiosity, im thinking about 150W system, for personal use only. How many plants could 150 successfully handle? About 4??

150W HPS = apx 3 sq ft of growing area.

I was thinking of going LED only because of the heating problems i have wit 600w HPS.

Any tips??
