Question for you auto experts

I got a couple free fem autos and am gonna do my 1st auto grow.I have read that 18/6 is the best light but I really want to finish them in my flowering room that is 12/12.
Would you flower under t5's at 18/6 or hps under 12/12.Oh and please I'm looking for answers from people who have experience with autos not people who are just
repeating what others told them. I'm not trying to be a bitch but you know people who never grew autos will chime in with there uninformed opinion and I just want auto growers opinions on this.

The more light the better with autos,I'd go 18/6. The last autos I grew I went 24/7 and got a little over 4oz from 3 plants.

They'll grow and flower fine under 12/12, but all else being equal you'll get a better yield under 18/6, if you can swing it.
