okay so i just recently met a friend that has a hydroponic set up and he said that if i give him seeds he will grow for me.

and i was questioning him about how much product he gets from one plant.

he told me that last time he harvested he had a 10ft plant that yeilded 5 lbs of product

could this be true or is he over exaggerating?

wow. dont think he could do a 10ft hydro plant. possibly outdoors in good climate and conditions. 5 lbs is a grip man. a good plant usually yields a oz + .

He's full of crap. I have a friend who, as an experiment, grew one plant in a hydro bucket in an unused walk-in closet. He used a 1000 watt HPS throughout the entire grow. He vegged it huge before flipping to the flowering cycle. At the finish, he couldn't walk into the closet anymore. His dried, cured weight after harvest was just a little over two elbows.

Now then, your friend MIGHT have had a ten-foot plant that yielded five elbows, but it would have had to be a super strain and grown in a hydo system outdoors.
