so i was going to make some feminized seeds using colloidal silver. my question is will the bud still be smokable after? has anyone ever tried? was it super harsh? does it taste metallic?

don't use that you idiot. silver does absoultly nothing for plants, yet alone starting a seed.......

thanks for being so constructive guy. if you knew what you were talking about he is thinkin of using gibrallic acid AKA colloidal silver, to induce hermaphroditism in a female plant to provide the female only pollen to pollinate a bud with then producing seeds. if your not going to say anything constructive or you just dont know what your talking about i suggest you keep it to yourself..
now to answer your question i have never actually used colloidal silver so im not too sure how it would effect taste but mpersonally i wouldnt want to smoke it. not too mention chances are that you will have lil male bananas that you didnt see and will prob end up smoking. so IMO if your really deadset on producing fem seeds i would make the entire grow a seed run. and just be sure to seperate the buds you actually treated seein as how you would probably only be spraying one bud. also when you produce the fem seeds you need to be sure to pollenate a plant that did NOT produce the pollen or you will have a higher risk of deformation and hermaphroditism in the seeds.
hope this helped

even your response makes no sense you tell someone not to post a question the better thing to do is keep your mouth shut when you dont know what your talking about instead of trying to make others feel bad... loser Freedom of speech doesnt apply on a forum where you agree to the terms of use where it clearly states that insulting othersa will not be tolerated... AKA callin ppl idiots for asking a damn good question.

because wikipedia is always right obviously you have never had to work on a scholarly level. anyone can edit wikipedia to say whatever they want. And just because someone didnt know of the use for colloidal silver at the time doesnt mean that its impossible you really are thick. next time do YOUR research properly and use a trusted source. that is if you ever want anyone to take you seriously instead of laughing at your ignorance
oh and next time search your false research site well enough and you'll get your info

Colloidal Silver (CS)
This is the least expensive and most privacy concious way to produce fem seed. CS has gotten a bad name because there is so much bad information spread around about its production and concentrations. It doesn't help that there are those who believe in drinking low concentration colloidal silver for good health and there is information mixed in about how to produce that low concentration food grade product. Follow the information here and you will consistently produce effective CS and know how to apply it to get consistent results.
Simply construct a generator using a 9-12v power supply (DC output, if it says AC then its no good) that can deliver at least 250ma (most wall wart type power supplies work, batteries are not recommended since their output varies over time). The supply will have a positive and negative lead, attach silver to each lead (contrary to internet rumors, you aren't drinking this is cheap 925 silver is more than pure enough) you can expose the leads by cliping off the round plug at the end and splitting the wires, one will be positive and the other negative just like any old battery. Submerge both leads about 2-3 inchs apart in a glass of distilled water (roughly 8oz). Let this run for 8-24hrs (until the liquid reads 12-15ppm) and when you return the liquid will be a purple or silver hue and there may be some precipitate on the bottom.
This liquid is called colloidal silver. It is nothing more or less than fine particles of silver suspended in water so it is a completely natural solution and is safe to handle without any special precautions. The silver inhibits female flowering hormones in cannabis and so the result is that male flowering hormone dominates and male flowers are produced.
To use the silver, spray on a plant or branch every three days prior to switching the lights to 12/12 and continue spraying until you see the first male flowers. Repeated applications after the first flowers appear may result in more male flowers and therefore more pollen. As the plant matures it will produce pollen that can be collected and used to pollinate any female flower (including flowers on the same plant).

You just got pwned

when using cs you only want to spray 1-2 branchs if done properly this will provide you with ample pollen to make seeds...im assuming you've done your reaserch an know all about cs so i wont explain how to use or make it...az

yea sorry for gettin hostile in your thread. hope you got what ya needed. I dont see why it would har ya to smoke the CS but i would try an avoid it

the important part is"this method is not preferred when creating feminized seeds"

Feminized seeds

It is possible to use a combination of cloning and "shocking" plants to get them to produce feminized seeds.[31] A clone will retain the same sex throughout its life, so if a female plant is cloned, its clones will also be female, precluding reproduction.
Some claim (particularly vendors of feminized seeds produced with certain methods) that while environmental stresses have been used to create pollen bearing male flowers on female plants- known as 'hermaphroditing' or 'hermying', this method is not preferred when creating feminized seeds; due to those plants most likely to revert to seed making being the ones which hermie soonest; hence passing on the genetic trait of instability of gender - desirable in the wild but not in cultivation.
Spraying selected leaves, branches and in cases where large amount of seed desired whole plants with colloidal silver solution has become a preferred method since the colloidal silver suppresses ethylene production in bud sites, stimulating male characteristics. Gibberellic acid has been used frequently; but is harder to find than colloidal silver, which involves nothing more than a small wall d.c. power supply and two pieces of solid silver jeweler's wire, or 99.999% silver coin. A method used by organic growers and promulgated by the famous Cannabis breeder Soma, is called 'Rodelization', or letting unpollenated female plants live several weeks longer than the normal harvest time. In such plants a hermaphroditic trait will self express in effort to continue the genetic line; the fact this method utilizes auto hermaphroditic traits which could contribute to instability in a plant's genetics is offset by grower observations that the tendency to auto-switch sex is not great in plants grown from seeds made this way, and the fact that it occurs naturally without effort on the part of the cultivator.
However, other cultivators claim that the genes responsible for hermaphroditism are present and may be activated under stress from any of the above methods and that once activated can be passed to seeds regardless of how it was activated. Previous theories would not have allowed for the passing of genetic alterations an adult has acquired after birth but there is evidence that when a gene is activated in a mother after her birth that expression can be passed to offspring.[citation needed]

In your first post you call the guy an idiot for even asking about it then you post something up that confirms you were infact wrong to call him an idiot....

Bet you grow some nice weed dont you little man, suppose next you'll tell us the best flowering light cycle is 18/6? or that myrical grow soil is the nuts?

Dont post unless you know what your talikng about, or at least say your not sure before giving your oppinion.

then don't talk about that certian type of silver then, oh yeah, freedom of speach.

lmao....any other type of silver is free game though........

this thread is the nuts.

and the CS technique is working so far. we'll see after i pop some seeds
