Question about Burlap Sac method

Shaman, when you made the thread about planting in the burlap sacs, you didn't specify whether you plant the seeds straight into the sac or grow them inside for a while and transplant into the sacs.

I've got three seeds planted and only one has sprouted (its only been 3 days though.) I'm planning on getting some CFL's to grow these three plants inside for about a month and then plant them outside in late May. Could I still use your burlap sac method and just transplant these into the sacs?

I to grow indoor. But for outdoor I grow clones in beer cup's till they are at leased 6-12 inch tall, then transplant to the Burlap sac's.

Good deal. I can't wait until my seedlings start growing...

When I'm ready to transplant, should I fill the sacs completely full? And do you lay them sideways and cut a hole in the side to plant? Or just set them straight up and plant in the top?

Lay out on it side. It lays flatter that way. And yes cut hole and plant. I fill my sac's 3/4 full and tie off with wire.

Thats basically the cups I have my seeds in...they're just red.

BTW, I just bought 4, 26 watt CFLs today. How many should I put on this little sprout? They are 1700 lumens each.

I think you should find a place to grow inside. Then set up your lights. Do you have a fan to circulate the air? Then put your plant under the lights. All of them.

I have a spot in my basement when I can grow them inside. And yeah, I have a fan for circulation air.

I just need to know how much light these new sprouts need. I have 4 of those CFLs and currently I have two of them on my sprout constantly except for when watering. But one of my other seeds started to sprout today so I need more lamps...do I need more lightbulb?

thats fine for new sprouts.

for my new sprouts i got 2 18w lights. so thats only 36w so you should be fine. also put the lights as close as you can to your plants to keep stretching to a minimal
