question about adding perlite

Ok I just got perlite after about growing for I'm thinking of digging around the plant in my 5 gal buckets to add it but I think that will hurt it so I'm also thinking maybe take then out of the pots first. Or I can put a. 1/4 in on top and work it down a little when ever I'm working on it or just continue how it is and make sure to add it to my next grow... Or any ideas.

maybe it would be better to re-pot it so you can evenly mix the perlite through the soil or leave it how it is

Yeah right now looking at it right now they are both in their final pot so I'm thinking of just airagating the soil by hand for now then when my 2 week olds move up ill start Adding to them. Cuz the 1month olds must have taproots atleast a foot llolong. So idk

You can also use perlite as a mulch on top, just add an inch or two to the top level. But yeah beside that I would just mix it in for next time

Yeah I tossed a handful of 2 into the pots and just mixed it in right on the top of the soil
