Lol I had to look up where you got those pics from head, looks like you guys are sore losers lol. Rioting over sports in general is some of the stupidest shit imo. What are you hoping to accomplish?
While I was looking up that vancouver riot I found this pic lol

Yeah, folks are retarded. Lots of pics of the G8 in Toronto a few years back, that was a lot of white folks too. Folks were going from out of town to tear up Toronto.

The good thing about being in a country of 30million people and not 300 million is a lot of idiots got caught. They spent a couple years digging threw photo's and identifying people.

They got lots of press up here for that photo, apparently they live close to me lol.

It was the G20 I guess. Tattoo sums up the type of person.

I will say this at least the black folks have a legitimate grievance, reason to riot? Probably not, but too many black kids get shot in situations where a white kid would get pepper sprayed, tazered, night sticked etc. etc. there's a huge problem in America with Police and the type of people that want to be Police.

The police were the ones stirring up shit in Toronto. They were busted doing it and had to admit to it. Pretending to be protestors.

Not to worry.. The police are now being labeled ' the bad ', the criminal element ' the victims '.

What's left of the good cops certainly must see which way the wind is blowing....can see the writing on the wall....[ pick your own cliche' ]. They'll flee the force in droves as their opportunities come along - or before. What honorable person of any intelligence would enter the police force to replace them in this climate? Ironically, the B/S being hurled at cops today will soon be a self-fulfilling prophesy of what your LEO will truly be in the not so distant future.

Again, not to worry - surely Robocop is only days away from saving the day. :eyesmoke:

Murder rates everywhere down... except when the police are involved. In that case they've gone way up.

Fact is police brutality is a major problem. Asset forfeiture is another major issue which leads to further police corruption. They know they operate with different rules and therefore can get away with anything practically. The job attracts some truly awful people as a result. A large % of cops are pieces of shit. End of discussion. I'm sick of hearing this utter bullshit about how 99% of cops are good people. That's a load of shit.

Agreed. The profession attracts authoritarian douche bags like flies to shit.

Not for me. I played football in h/s with a handful of future cops/troopers. Toked up with a couple of them before we graduated.

In the decade that my [at the time] wife and I were personal trainers, we had several clients, and other gym friends who were cops, firefighters, and life-saving crew. One of my best friends was the sergeant-of-arms at the city courthouse, who was disappointed on several occasions to see me there as a defendant facing the justice system - most often traffic court. Once, he saved me from a certain contempt of court jail sentence by intervening - long story.

Say what you want about the profession, but I know for a fact that some of the best people I've known were/are cops. I've respected their profession, and never flaunted whatever illegal habits I engaged in - except once. I fault none of them for doing their job in that instance of my stupidity.

Bashing cops is nothing new. The post-hippies that called them pigs and worse were among the rest of the folks who frantically call 911 when trouble invades their world. Like now.

Here's a more sophisticated conversation that mimics this one.
More sophisticated? You find us unsophisticated?

At times, yes. But I think you'd like it as it features multiple points of views, even yours I believe is represented. A good podcast to put on as you go about your day.

Eta: I'm not one to waste people's time with bad recommendations. Plus I found the diverse opinions interesting and thought perhaps you would as well

Fair enough, you don't have to listen to what I thought was an interesting conversation, one I was actually interested to hear your insights on. By the way, it's not youtube, so technically doesn't apply ;)

I didn't realize intellectualism was something to shun, I suppose I can lower my expectations on quality thought and engagement.

I might have clicked it had you not labeled it 'more sophisticated', even though I suppose you consider me sufficiently sophisticated to appreciate what you consider 'more sophisticated' than this current discussion among what I consider in many respects 'peers'.

In a nutshell: I appreciate good grammar and spelling and sentence construction as much as anyone; it would be wonderful if all posts were literary masterpieces, fo reazell.

However, I don't automatically assume stupid ideas or perceptions or viewpoints to people who don't have those skills. I'm almost shocked that you do - call me slow on that one - but from your passionate defense of people of inopportunity, to your almost apologetic manner that you reference your 'white priviledge' [over and over], I was inclined that you would in fact be the most gracious and tolerant of us all.

Some of the people most difficult to decipher on RIU turn out to have the most to say once their form of communication is grokked.

"I suppose I can lower my expectations on quality thought and engagement."

That qualifies as pretentious twat speech to me. But perhaps someone else considers it sophisticated. Good luck w/ that.

If I thought so lowly of you or anyone else, I wouldn't waste my time.

And my last line you quoted was sarcasm.

If I wanted to engage in an echo chamber, I'd stick to other peer circles.

And I make no apologies for being somewhat of an educated "elitist". I call it better oneself, or perhaps "bootstrapping" is more your style. Education in traditional and non traditional ways is a means of further understanding the world around oneself and an endeavour I believe one should strive for. I know many don't have that opportunity, and I only wish more could.

And no offense, tolerance isn't something you seem to demonstrate much. I won't drag in private conversations but your previously stated beliefs don't leave much room for tolerance.
