QB96 Elite V2 w/ SSTX heatsink question

The room that is being flipped is covered with lights that I made LM301B strip build with reds and UV and infrared. Planning on grabbing some clones from buddy to run under the 96s. Here's a pic of the last lights made.
Saw the baking sheet, too. Perhaps you should open a custom fixture biz....sell em on etsy...

Im still waiting for the company to make the baking pan - strip build on the low.. They will have my $$ lol :eyesmoke:
it reminded me of a company that actually did that but I couldn't find the link and found that photo instead.

I just went down to a local machine shop and asked for two 18" x 46" and paid them to water-jet cut out for the boards as I can't match that level of accuracy with my tools.
Someone should start a thread for local shops by major cities that does work, unless its already been started.

I’d settle for a link to one high quality, reasonably priced, US-located, custom diode board maker..with good design/use resources catering to growers, not electricians/engineers...

Simple to use, plug-n-play, designed-for-led-growlight controllers (on-off, scheduling, dimming) would be next...don’t need wifi/internet or thunder&lightning, or any other gimmicks...

Roots, rock, reggae...

Electricians rewiring today, reset grow room next week, begin mainfold-building the following week, replace a couple 96s & all thermal pads..get this 288 vs 96 extreme flowering smackdown going by end Jan...

A little diamond mining, in between...

I live in a small town. You really shouldn't have any trouble finding a place in a larger Canadian or US city. Any welding/fabrication shop should either be able to do the work or point you in the right direction. Ask if they do water jet cutting..
Be VERY detailed in your blueprints and allow for a little extra room for your boards/strips/etc.

I just checked my white pad leakage and its stopped after first clean up, as long as it does not affect longevity I think you would be remiss not to run them.... they likey the light cuz

Figured I would try some seeds from like back 30 years ago I had saved back in the day (when sometimes a third of the bags weight was seeds and stems lol)and this morning one decided to pop, maybe get them under the 96s.

Ok folks. I clocked the Hlg production Elite 96 units last night. They post 2 umol/j I think so as a reference here is the wattage draw to achieve the 2umol/j .
330 per 2, 96's or 165 a piece. View attachment 4252426
Actually the site states 360 so 180 each might be how they got 2 umol/j but mine are 328w or 330 we'll call it so idk. Maybe mine are just running to the standard of that driver & it can be turned up with a screwdriver like my MW's. Will check tonight.
Basically a pointless post from the start, Haha, I do smoke!

Hello ! how they calculate umol/j ?

@Or_Gro sup cuzzy?
What do you think max ppfd is without using CO2, I know its gonna be strain dependant and enviro, but if you had to take a punt I'd be interested.....

The appropriate metric for plant lighting is photosynthetic photon efficacy (PPE). This is the PAR photon output (unit of micromoles per second, or μmol·s–¹) divided by the input power (watts, or W) to produce that light. Thus, the unit becomes μmol·s–¹·W–¹, and because one watt (W) equals one joule per second (J·s–¹), the ratio can be simplified to μmol·J–¹ (μmol per second/joule per second).

I’ve heard others say they like 800ish or so without CO2. My recent 288 run (w Co2) was my first run using par meter, so i don’t have any personal perspective.

I found even with 1500+ppm co2 and target vpd, tips getting more than ~ 1050 started bleaching.

I’d say go for 800, then when you are home for a few days try 900, and see how they respond, (only takes a day or two for damage to become apparent) backing down as soon as you see bleaching, or pushing further if none.

Your conditions and perhaps strains will have a lot to do with how far you can push it.

Gents , thanks,!

Ive been a bit scared to run harder than about 45k lux at the top of the biggest cola.

What worries me is with 600hps U could singe the top a bit, correct and move on. Its all new ball game now the light is better spread.
