Hello guys and gals Im in desperate need of your expert opinions.
I have been growing mj indoor and outdoor for some years now (personal use). I have 80×80×160 (2,7x2,7×5,2) grow tent with 400W HPS cooltube thats been colecting dust now for years because heat control fans make too much noise for appartament building that I live in, so I have to rely only on outdoor growing.
Few days ago my complete grow was stolen and all the money, time and afford for this season went to waste. As you can probably imagine Iam very frustrated and thats why I have decided to give indoor another chance. But the only way that is possibile is by replacing the old HID lighting sistem for Led technology.
I have been reading alot about that on the net and decided to go for quantum board. The only problem is that I dont know which one to pick because I dont trust this shady LED manufactures and their numbers. If Im willing to invest money in a product I expect It to perform as described.
So basically I need an affordable quantum board for 2,7X2,7 square feet (80X80cm) area equivalent to 400W-600W HPS
....any suggestions which one to pick and what are your experiance using qb. Is there anything better currently on the market?
Thank for your answers and sorry for bad grammer english is not my first language.

you can look for a Meanwell HLG 240 driver based setup, 240w is enough to cover that space.
I would go with at least 4 QB boards for coverage, but there are many ways to skin a cat.
QB boards are fine, LM301b/h are good diodes.
To save a few bucks you can even use LM561 based boards/strips, more bang for the buck.
Other recent option is bridgelux eb3, my personal favorite so far.

that will of course do it, just a bit too much power, you will have to dim it at least 50% down i would say, thats a 480w led light.
2 x 240w drivers.
Dont know which reds they used, but well.. it will do it.

240 watts is good for that space.
The original Quantum Boards, made for HLG by Samsung.

What do you mean with that line? You know you will still need to use fans to ventilate heat and exchange air?

I would probably pick up 2x https://horticulturelightinggroup.com/collections/all/products/qb288-v1-slate-2-single-combo
and a meanwell driver to power them. That comes in probably around $200.
If you have more to spend then the newest rspec version will rock that space.
Or the xw version from growerslights https://growerslights.com/collections/horticulture-lighting-group-quantum-board-led-kits/products/horticulture-lighting-group-320-watt-xw-quantum-board-led-kit-v2
Would suit the space well with the slightly wider heat sink, but you would have to email them to find out if and when they will have them back in stock since last few times I have looked they are out of stock.
This is assuming your in USA.
