Purpling stem in past couple hours

Just set up a DWC today plant was a clone from my current flowering plant. I have made sure there are no light leaks in the containers, its surrounded by big stones and a cover for the netpot. So my stem was slighty purple when i put it in the DWC it was from being out in a 40 degree car a couple weeks ago. Since i put it in it has been turning more purple. I have a air stone directly under the net pot. The Ph is sitting at 5.6.

Sometimes purpling is natural with the strain.
Sometimes it's a deficiency. Give it a lil more time to grow out.
Clones gotta use a lot of energy for the roots, so it'll be awhile before it has energy to use up top.
Keep it up

Need more info....

What strain?

You using R/O water?

Night temp?

It depends give us more inforamtion and maybe we can help. Does it have new growth since you placed it in DWC?

Bag seed, Like i mentioned earlier i had put it in a couple hours earlier to quick to notice any growth. I am using filtered water from the store and the night temps are 60 but it was the first night it was even in there last night stem was purple as soon as i put it in the water.

Sorry if i missed some information...my meds tend to do that!

If you are using filtered water from the store then what are you replacing the Cal-Mag with? Filtered water is nice but missing essential minerals for growth. WHen my white widow stems turned purple it was because the lack of Cal-Mag. I use R/O water so I have to throw this in the nute soup.

Best thing to do is wait about 2 days after you make changes, such as adding nutes, transplanting, etc etc. Patience is a virtue.

Hope this helps.

What do u mean by R/O water?

Also my ph keeps bouncing about 1 value lets say its 6.3 it shoots up to 7 within 24 hours. Is that just the plant taking all of the nutrients from the nutes i put in?

Im fairly new to hydro but i have been doing a lot of reading, for some reason though some of these questions i cant find answers.

your PH shooting to 7 is normal. Just bring it back down daily as needed, but not too much too stress the roots. maybe 1ml per day. As for the purple stem I would say the cold to warm temps made the purple happen. Were any stems damaged during the move? The purple is fine too. I have seen plants with purple stems through finish with good results in the past.

What do you mean by bringing it down a ml a day like what am i using to bring it back down... because ive just been replacing the water which i know is not the best way because you run through a ton of water.

How are you testing PH? How do you know it is shooting to 7? What are you doing to combat it? You should not have to change water every day?

Im using a tester that sucks to the side of the tank and changes every ten minutes, used for fish tanks but same concept. I dont have a solution to combat it thats what im looking for.

....Im almost tempted to put it back in dirt..

you need PH Up and PH down...Made by general Hydroponics, earth juice has one, just to name a couple. You have to adjust the PH accordingly.

I agree with SlVl about the purple stmes. Cold tends to do that to certain strains.

R/O = Reverse Osmosis

WOW ok then thats terrific way to be a hard ass on the internet the whole purpose is of this forum is to learn and i have done my research. R/O isnt a very popular term in my experience, now if he would of said reverse osmosis i would know what it is. Good talk, keep hating. A lot of the walk throughs for dwc dont go into as much detail as you would think.

This guys an idiot... Save ur sanity and let his ass do some research... What's R/O water? LMFAO
Just because you don't know the lingo doesnt mean he/she/it is a dumb azz. Everyone will learn in due time.

Thatguy113,

The thing is everyone has thier own method. There is no one way to do DWC and thats why you wont find a complete in depth do it all. Now the fundamentals are the same , such as temps, lights, PPM, and PH. Get those down and you pretty much can grow anything.
