it won't matter how close you get that light to the plants. red light = stretch. you need to get a fan on them and then crank it up after they are a bit stronger. adding blue will help a lot. i hope you plan to do a proper journal. i'm excited to see the end product.

Hmm well I used red light through all of my veg and I didnt have that issue... But the hortilux does produce some blues.

Looks like your using a seed starting soil... you may need to get some potting soil so that you don't have drainage issues, root rot, etc... its not too late. and you'll need to put the stem down in the dirt to where theres only about an inch of stem sticking out of the soil.

sorry lads it was my fault with them stretching,
They didnt have proper light for 3 days but they have just been put under a 500w blue spectrum bulb they should be ok now,
there is a fan next to them but you cant see it in the pics.

the plants that are stretched are bagseeds. the smaller plants in bigger pots are purple widow.

i will keep this journal going right to the end.

Thanks for the help guys peace:peace:

As long as it has no time release crap, and has a good pH level. You will be fine. Plants are streching bad, just putting in an extra bulb wont help, they will all stretch towards that bulb. You need a few more, even some 20watt cfl's placed about will do the trick.

the reason why they were stretching is because they went under a 20w cfl for 3 days so they stretched like mad. my grow room still had a plant in ready for cropping.
now that it has been cropped these have gone into the grow room and are now under some proper light.

Day 10
Hi guys bit of an update and will get pics on tonight.

they are getting bigger now but some of them have brown spots on the leaves a bit like nute burn.
my soil ph is 6.8 and i have not added any nutes yet also the soil doesnt contain any slow release nutes.
i have just added 2x new lights 4foot fluorescent daylight bulbs to the grow room

any suggestions on the brown spots and i will get some pics on tonight

I get some spots from time to time, It can be from a number of things like nutes, but you said you havent added any. lights can burn too but I dont think thats your issue if they are not too close anyway. How are your Temps? Do you have Bugs? Bugs under the soil are hard to spot!

Yeah, I am actually going to order purple widow, being as it is a vigorous plant as is wel suited for outdoor cultivation. On any website under their seed description it clearly states do not use for indoor! I am curious as to how this will pan out. P.S. they can grow to a height of over 11 feet if outdoors : ) It seems like one of those sweet ass strains that will flourish outdoors but not work indoors... keep us updated with pics..

no bugs for sure. but it could be the lights after someone told me to lower them but they dont get too hot.
the room temp is around 75-80 f
