Purple stock and red stems.

I am a first time grower of Marijuana, but I have been smoking it for about 4 years. About a week ago I started noticing that my plant was a little droopy but thought nothing of it. Now the main stock is turning purple, stems are turning red and I am very worried that the plant will not survive.

Here are some pictures;

Help is much appreciated.

Hey bro, Im new here too. By reading a lot on this forum Ive learned Red/Purple stems/staulks. Is caused by Heat Stress of the light. Move the light a little more further away or add a fan. My plants are the same way but still growing big and fast

lots of breeds grow with purple stems, WW, AK-47, White Rhino, Nebula (both strains), Somango, Chitralah, Bhuddas Sister, S.A.G.E., Black Domina, etc., all have purple stems.
it can also be caused by low night temps, don't worry, it'll be all right......
I forgot, also Early and Warlock do the purp stem thing.....

Thanks for the quick replies and advice guys. I also read around that the purple and redness could be caused by a nutrient insufficiency such as phosphorus.

My grandmother(LMFAO) and some friends have told me not to really worry about it or use some miracle grow. However I am kind of skeptical of mixing chemicals in the weed and I really don't just want to leave it and see the plant die.

What about the droopy leaves(especially at night)? Is that normal in maturing plants?

drooping leaves could be from heat stress or lack of water. how ofen are you giving her water? me personally im doing an organic grow this time around so im trying not to use any chemicals, so i water often. try foliar feeding. a little squirt bottle set to mist the plants twice a day for me is working well. get a moisture thermometer from wally-world. like 8 bux...

While I do agree with the others that purple stems and stalks CAN be perfectly normal.... add to it the droopiness that you mention and you might have a problem. I had 3 WW (white widow) and 3 BB (blueberry) growing. The light was more then high enough away and I was watering and feeding on the low end of the nute specturm. (I'm growing hempy method). The BB are 2 weeks younger then the WW. I noticed my BB stems and stalks started turning purple.... I didn't worry about it as I've read it can be perfectly normal... and they looked healthy.

Then one day I woke up and BAM.... all 3 of my BB were severely wilting and looking like they were about to die. After some reading as much as I could I guessed that I had a phosphorous deficiency. I added some bone meal with a high phosphorous number and hoped for the best. Two of them died anyway (they were too far gone)... the third is TRYING to pull out of it and recover but at this point I'm not holding much hope for it. My WW are doing GREAT.... but unfortunately I didn't recognize the problem in time to save my BB.

I guess learning to spot a problem before it's too late is all part of the process.

Good luck to your babies :)

Alright, it's nighttime here in Canada so here is how droopy it's getting.

Not severe droopiness but enough to make me worry about it.

She is getting watered with about 200 ML of water at 10 AM everyday and receiving 8-9 hrs of sunlight per day. It's sitting in a 6" pot at about 7 weeks old. I'm wondering if maybe I should transplant it to a pot double the size and start also doubling the water supply.

i wouldent increase the water supply thats plenty, i recon the drooping is from over watering, and it defo need a transplant man.

Don't fuck with it,lol! I know it is so tempting to put the mad scientists hat on and start experimenting! Your plant looks great, maybe a little less watering, but do not start to worry about every little thing. Chances are that you are going to fuck it up once you start messing with it too much;)

Good luck mate!

Thank you very much for the help guys. I think I'll stick around this forum and document the rest of my grow(in a grow journal) just to make sure if anything goes wrong I have the forum to help me out, lol.

This morning I felt the soil and it's still pretty damp from yesterdays 10 AM watering, so I haven't bothered to water it yet. Should I dry it out today and wait until tomorrow to water it?

my seedling started off that way as they matured they changed in color

Also I wont mention other causes because your plants look healthy,
I would like to ask and add if its only at nite (dark period?)I believe its natural (droop) if they perk right up the next morn if not I agree with the comment above about water, I norm water whenever the media (soil for me) is dry the first 2 inches when I run my fingers through the media.

******edit "Ohhhh yeah dude transplant that thing ASAP"*********************

Thanks check out my 1st grow sometime. down to 5 plants in flower 8 clones

I'd transplant into a big container... then again, hydo really works best for me... then there's no messin around with messy dirt and bat droppings and stuff like that.

Tonight I'll be transplanting it into a 10" potter. So far I haven't messed with anything other than plain water and dirt. I'm also starting to wonder if I should start flowering because the plant seems to be developing a flower-like stalk at the top..

It does perk right up in the morning. So just a bigger pot and a little less watering should be fine.

How much head space do you have?
If you're talking the top of the plant to the light, I don't have lights. I am currently using the natural sun to grow. Soon I will be moving it into my closet, during my 12/12 flowering, with two florescent lights.

what happens if you flower a small plant? does it stress the hell out of it possible kill, or does it only have a smaller yeild?
