Purple maroc early blooming?! :o

So I bought purple maroc seeds and one has been growing for 14 weeks already and the other for about 10. They were indoor at first but transplanted outdoor when they were about a foot. One is a good 2.5 feet tall now do to super cropping and the other is about a foot and a half. I have 2 growing next to an abandoned house, and for some reason the shorter one is pre flowering. I am a bit concerned because we are in June and last year when i had a different strain growing in the same spot it started flowering early August. I read on some other site that it has some autoflowering in its genes. Can this be the reason why? Although it is only one that is flowering, should i be concerned that the taller one is going to go into flowering as well? I think it is way too early for a sativa dominant strain and im not too pleased with their height. Thank you everyone please help me out. Peace and Marijuana.

here is some info on this strain:
Purple Maroc Seeds
is Female Seeds specially inbred feminised Moroccan strain Purple Maroc

Purple Maroc has been intensively bred from original Morrocan Ketama genetics by Female Seeds. It is an early maturing outdoor/greenhouse sativa with high THC resin production. Maroc (Moroccan) is perfect for both outdoor and greenhouse cultivation. After about 8 weeks of vegetative growth it is ready to start flowering by the middle of July. Maroc produces long , slender buds with an open structure that is very mould resistant. Although the genuine Ketama taste requires the "terroir" of Morocco to be fully realised this cannabis variety developes its own delicious unique flavour elsewhere with different climates and soils - an extremely aromatic smoke. This plant becomes rather an unreliable strain indoors as it is specially bred for outdoor cultivation.
Purple Maroc specifics:

  • Environment: Outdoors/Greenhouse
  • Cannabis genetics: Ketama (Moroccan)
  • Variety: 95% cannabis sativa
  • Flowering: 8 weeks
  • Harvest: Middle September outdoors northern hemisphere
  • Characteristics: Heavy outdoor resin producer

Growing one right now. I've heard the strain has issues with flowering early. My first run with it so I don't really have any useful info. Mine is doing great though. Pic is on the last page of the thread in my sig.

I think yours is going to be ok assuming it's getting enough light.

Hey there, I'm growing purple maroc this year too both indoors and outdoors. PM is not a real autoflower or even semi-auto as some people refer to it as. It has no ruderalis in it's genetics. It is, however, a very photosensative plant. I'm not saying it should start flowering at the longest daylight hours of the year like yours has, this is unusual to me. How long ago did you put them out? Did you have them under 24hr light indoors? The transition could have sent it into flower.

Also, why are you cutting all of your fan leaves? I assume its for better light penetration? This is a very bad practice, you should never cut or trim fan leaves unless they are completely dead. You are simply setting yourself back by doing this.

Sick. It is not due to the transition, I know that for sure. I have done this for years. More light and I provide whatever was lost from the leaves. In fact mine do better I've experimented

I received 1 free Purple Maroc from a order via The Attitude. Grown indoor under a 400w MH/HPS along with some Autoflowers that I had ordered. At week 5 it started showing sex/pre-flowers and I thought "great, it's a girl and I'll clone it and keep it rolling in veg, for several weeks under the same 20/4 photoperiod." At week 7, started 2 air-layer clones using sphagnum moss wrapped around the 4th tier, removed at week 10,put into their own containers and they never missed a beat. Took 4 more clones to but in to my 8-site Daisy cloner at week 11 but had some concerns about their sucess rate as the mother was still showing clear signs of being in flower, they were a bit slow to show roots (took 4 weeks) but all 4 are now ready to go in to soil. Flipped the mother and the 1st 2 clones to 12/12 last week and they are rapidly developing flowers as I expected since the strain seemed to be determined to flower despite all my efforts to keep it in veg.
To summise, I have no idea of the yield or potency of this strain but I have never seen a sativa or indica with this level of early flowering. If it does yield well with potent buds could it be a "holy grail" for both indoor/outdoor growers especially those with short growing seasons? I've grown upwards of 50 different strains since my first grow in '77 and this is one odd bird for sure. Even if the smoke isn't all that outstanding,it may useful for breeding purposes as maybe a F2 or F3 hybrid a few years down the road.

That sucks to hear so many bad reviews on this strain. Female seeds did a poor job. Lets just hope the strain is very resinous as the description claims. Thanks everyone lets keep this thread alive for the rest of P.M growers. Keep updating on the girls you guys. Peace and pot.

ive got a PM indoors and when i moved it from the flouro 24/7 to a 400 hps 18/6 it auto'd, fwiw. Also seems to be blooming much faster than anything else i've grown recently.

I put out 10 purple maroc X super auto. they both normally start flowering in week 8, and can grow 6 foot tall in the 4-5 months they take to flower. but i figured that they should show photosensitivity and not flower in very long days. I just checked them out and they are all 1-2 foot tall and in early flowering stage... So please tell me what your results were from early flowering in mid summer? did it half flower and be half photosensitive? did it just put out massive skunk buds in july and august? or did it just half flower and half bud for all that time, and full on flower in september?

I had a super auto in a cupboard in 18/6 for 4-5 months. She just kept on flowering and vegging at the same time for 3 months. the problem with that was that the flowers that were 40 days old just withered and stayed weedy and weird. I hope that my purple marocs can grow at least 4 feet tall and put out proper buds. bt i am pretty sure that they will do some kind of half arse flowering for the next 3 months :/ and then finish in a weird way in september. Last year, i put some of the super autos out, they grew quite tall and then flowered in august or something. later than these ones i have now. i'm a bit confused abotu what they are trying to do, and why they are so early. I think i stressed them by growing them like veg plants and putting them out from small pots with small roots and stuff. they are dwarfy auto photosensetives. :/
