pure oxygen for the plants roots plus regular room air

so what do you think of that? i was just thinking the other day about using a mix of pure oxygen and regular air and putting the air pump/s in a box with a regulator to dispense the o2 and a fan or something to draw in fresh air...


you wont never guess where i found it by accident HOME DEPOT 10 bucks for like a pound or 14 oz,,its right next to the propane torches and cans, its in a RED can. i was thinking with co2 enrichment the roots could benefit more from a higher concentration of pure oxygen , or just in general, w/wo co2.

or does anybody else know where to get some? cant you get it from a welding store just like co2?

Yes co2 can be purchased from welding supply stores usually or beverage distributors like coca cola...

So you're proposing a closed loop separate air system for the roots that is oxygen rich... you'd have to have an exhaust line built into the DWC unit to suck the air back out inside the container before it's had a chance to leak out through/around the neoprene cuffs... or something like that... otherwise you'd be pouring oxygen-enriched air into the area you want to be CO2 enriched.

Also i am not sure you know this, but co2 is what the plants take in through the stomata via the underside of the leaves, they only need co2, and at a rate at 1500ppm max..it will accelerate water and nutrient uptake by the plants, which is great! but they need a good 85 degrees to open the stomata up wide, to take in that co2 rich air...for roots you could put an airstone in your water which oxygenates the water for roots....I do a mix of outside air sometimes, but only for temp control not for benefit of the plant.. Because essentially they only need co2!

let me try to reword this,

by adding pure oxygen to where you keep the airpumps located you would add more oxygen to the roots, which in turn would make the plant grow more vigorously. and im talking a very little bit of o2 i am getting a dissolved O2 meter to test my theory, of weather or not adding pure o2 will make the plant grow better , with the combination of a co2 enriched atmosphere ,

man either yall dont read the post or are too high to understand the fundamentals of English and writing.

and yes o2 is very flammable but too bad it will be regulated and in its owe area, bc what sense would it make to put the air pump in a room full of hot air..

did yall also know that LP & NG are very flammable also , i think i just had a epiphany.

I know of others that have tried adding o2 and what you need to realize is water can only hold so much dissolved o2 and the main limiting factor is temp. After testing they found that o2 saturation levels were near the same. K.I.S.S.

oxygen isn't flammable without a flammable fuel source present and even then o2 isn't flammable. I bet some people wish o2 was flammable.

No. I could edit that right now and type whatever the fuck I want. In fact if you look at the "View History" tab, the history of that page is dubious at best. You can see edits removed and flagged as vandalism. In other words, wikipedia is not a good source, although the good pages are supported with links to reputable sources.

Not saying whether O2 is flammable or not (I've always thought it was, but I'm sure you guys are right), just calling out the shitty sources.
