Purchase Cool Cab or Build ?

Hello all, and new to this form and website.

I was looking to purchase The Cool Cab for $2,345.00 until I came across this forum. I am no electrical engineer but I can assemble some parts in a cabinet. My biggest question is the wiring and tubing... how hard is all that.

Also, another question the Cool Cab comes with a 14 plant hydroflra system, but a fairly experienced farmer told me he doesn't think there is enough room for 14 plants to fully grow in proper stage. He thinks it's closer more to the number of 6 plants will grow fine... not 14

My biggest question is how are you going to cut 6" dia. holes through sheet metal for the cool tube intake and exhaust?

Please let us know how you get on.

Defitely build your own. I considered a Cool Cab as well and I decided to go with a Homebox instead. Grow Huts make for great grow spaces. As for growing 14 plants, that's for a Sea Of Green grow.

Shaggylee,

Welcome to RIU! I would STRONGLY recommend you build your own, given that you own a couple power tools. I have never seen the cool cab, but I have seen tons of store bought cabnets and I firmly believe its not worth the money. There are some members on here (including myself) that have made their own with great success. I built mine to house T5 HO technology, but you can cut 6" holes for your vents and carbon scrubber no problem if you have a compass and a portable scroll saw.

In order to properly asses what exactly you need you should review these points.

A) Are you a new grower? If yes, I would try soil before hydroponics.
B) How many plants do you plan on growing? (I would check your state laws to make sure your not risking too much.)
C) How tall do you want the plants? Want them tall with big colas, or SOG?
D) Most importantly, do you have any carpentry skills? I wouldn't recommend that everybody tries to build their own.

My grow box is 3' wide X 4' tall X 2' deep, I can fit 4 plants comfortably, 6 if I had to. But I don't sell (never have or will), I don't have friends who smoke (so I don't give alot out), so I'm content with only growing 1 or two females at a time.

I would recommend above all else that you do your research on the product in question, other products, and possible DIY projects before investing $3000.

Good Luck. :peace:

I can figure out how to cut a hole. I'm more worried about skrewing up my harvest.. I have never grown before, and still need to do my research.

I want to know about how many ounces I'll get from my Cab on a regular harvest 6f tall x 3 ft wide x 2 ft deep(my cab dimensions) .

-um, what?

A. yes, why

B. As many as possible that I can in my cab

C. However tall I can get them w/o burning them, and more bud weight. I'm not sure, what is the exact difference? Which is better bigger Colar or Sea of Green?

D. Thomas the tank, "I can do it, bra"
