BTW Ohsogreen, not to come off like a dick or anything, but I don't think PMing people on the forums is the appropriate route to take in advertising this thread... If it's an issue, it will be bumped until there is some notice by the forum moderators and/or admin.

Just my two cents.
.
GrowTech.... I just sent personal messages to a dozen people, I have listed as friends. I seldom ask anything of people. I just wanted to encourage people, who's opinions I value, to chime in this thread - thinking some might not visit this particular forum....
.
Not advertising - just networking - to promote a better community atmosphere....
.
No offense taken.... Peace.....

Tact is being able to tell a person to go to hell and have them be happy to be on their way.
.
MissHesterMoffitt.... You have misread me. I have never been shy. If I wanted to speak harshly to someone - I don't sweeten it up. I'm very straight forward.
.
We will never, all agree on everything. But we do agree on allot of things. GrowTech is still on my friends list, because I value his opinions and willingness to help others. Nothing has changed.

Keep it Real...Organic.... & read my signature... I live it.....

Where in the hell am I?

Okay, newbie talkin here, so skip what I have to say if you would like . . . Am I wrong, or is this a world-wide forum on the world wide web? I only ask this due to the fact that the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America is not a world wide order. Not just that, but the fact that this forum exists proves that it does not fall under the Consitution or laws of the US. If it did, there would be the exacting processes that the government of the US would attempt to enforce.
Yeah, I know. Anyway. . . Any and every human on the planet should share the same rights of free speech, point blank. However, there are certain things that you are not allowed to say in America, despite the 1st Amend. There are buzz words that are actual crimes. I hate to tell you this, but something as simple as telling someone "fuck you" is actually a crime punishable by up to a "to be determined" amount of time
thanks to the homeland security act. You see, depending on how you say what you say, and who you say it to, and under what conditions you say it, it is considered a TERRORIST THREAT. So, wake up! We no longer have a freedom of speech in America. Therefore, even if this were an American-law abiding forum, due to the big DUB, there is no limit to what is called a terrorist threat, therefore, under the homeland security act, freedom of speech has been abolished!
Just out of curiosity, why can't we just TRY to constantly talk with at least a modicum of respect. We are all supposed to be adults on here. Yes, emotions boil, but we are TYPING. That means you can take a deep breath (FAT RIP), chill, then talk decently even if someone else can't. If we can't all do that, then what in the fuck are our kids gonna do?

They should create a "text battle" section asimilar to the text battle sections on music forums used mostly by the rappers and hiphop musicians.
People get invited to the battle sections to argue it all outbongsmilie

For most part alls well..the fights do get personal at times, but most seem to handle them themselves... The bag of dead babies and stuff along this line need an interdiction as soon as possible.. don't need asshole shit fountains, bung holes the size of small garages, but I'm still not a fan of 0 tolerance of any talk of other sites that a lot here ago to at down/slow times here ..its not a pouching thing, its just at some other places members here are in a battle game and bookie stuff that would be nice to be able to mention without being , warned, or out and out banned, which has happened.. besides those thought's, I thing most is good......

love that idea:hug::hug::hug:option to send an invite and if they except than you go off to the battle room and work it out... some ppl are really defensive even if your not callig them out and that starts a lot o shit when ppl twist what was said into sum sort of hit at them even if it wasn't directed at them and it wasn't their thread to begin with.

edit: they were supposed to be clapping guys i dnt really need a hug, do you??

There's a drama thread elsewhere that works well.. although sometimes it just takes seeing someone and you just can't help yourself.. my problem is they're usually walking by me and not on a site..

Ohsogreen, no worries- just want to make sure this is handled appropriately and doesn't backfire on you.

Killing off a thread because of some of the content is a bad choice. Deleting individual posts (though time consuming) is the best method. Lets say you create a thread, and 6 or 7 people contribute good content to it, but 1 or 2 people start talking shit... If you delete the thread, nobody will ever see the positive posts behind those 6 or 7 people, because of 1 or 2 people.

If you delete individual posts, you can keep the good content, and delete the bad.

For the most part, this is exercised though.
Closure of the thread might resolve that problem more quickly. But, honestly, there are really only two active moderators on this site, and only one who spends most of his free time here. There are almost 84,000 members here, and while the VAST majority don't post, at my quick check just now there are several hundred online. There's just not enough manpower here to do it.

All that said, pertinent to the vote, I am a free speech gal, and for me that includes the speech I don't like. However, this site accepts advertising and has its own rules that we all must agree to in order to register and participate. I do expect everyone, users and staff, to follow those rules, but such is not always the case. C'est la vies.
.
Stoney McFried..... How to be a seed pimp (on Subcool's Forum) is a clear cut example of what I'm talking about. It offers nothing, but harsh words.
.
Keep it Real... & Polite.... cause mean People Suck.....
Yep, mean people DO suck. :x
.... but who's gonna kill the offensive moderators?
 Oh snap!

I honestly didn't see anything in the "Do you kiss after a bj" thread that deserved closing the thread.. sure it had a disgusting comment.. but I don't think that breaks any rules..

Theres fdd2blk, chiceh, potroast, and gardenknowm who i know for sure all resond to the !! alerts pretty quickly. especially fdd2blk and chiceh... they do an excellent job... keep in mind, the biggest influx of problem threads came as a result of explaining the forum code of conduct... to which people (mostly just idiots) responded in a ridiculous manner, protesting the rules that they agreed to...

I think more infractions should be handed out, but that's also a result of us using the !! button to report problem posts / threads to the moderator staff.

I agree extra manpower couldn't hurt... but I personally feel the problem is our own creation, as most people don't report problem posts/threads as regularly as they should.

When you report a problem post/thread a pool of moderators is alerted, and once received it gets reviewed, and handled appropriately... some people may or may not like the decision of the moderator, but it is THEIR job to moderate threads/posts/user activity, and it is in OUR interest to report violations.

also keep in mind, that out of the several hundred people online right now, most of them are not going to submit posts/threads of any type, and an even smaller percentage is likely to submit problem posts/threads.

just my two cents.

obviously some people had a problem with it... did the thread offer anything to riu? no, not really... polling other members about their sexual activities in a public setting is pretty inappropriate to be honest.
