hey if your gonna go this route let me give u some advice. get rid of the foil. goto walmart or any autoparts store and get a windshield reflector. you know the big shiney things you put in the window to keep the sun out. use that, its reflective and does not create heat. thats what i use in my grow box. get the double sided one cost me 6 bucks at walmart and i seperated it and wound up with double the size it came with. take a look at my journal so you can see what im talking about. it also has a grooved surface just like alot of grow hoods so no hot spots. i can tell you it works and have the pics and vids to prove it. also get at least 2 cfl's 40w 1 5000-6500k and the other 2700k you will need the varying spectrum. as for soil you can use miracle grow if thats all you have access to, but make sure you add 25% perlite and make sure its potting soil not topsoil. good luck, hit me up if you have any questions. ill help as best as i can

Pretty right on except don't add perlite to your MG, and if you do, DEF not 25%. It just takes up valuable space that could be used for you soil and for your roots to grow. MG Organic has really good drainage properties. As long as you don't water too often, you wont have drainage problems with MG.

what can you say about em
They're sensitive to stress and nutrient burn.
They're really easy to grow. You can literally throw them in the ground and forget about them for 2-3 months, then come back and harvest them.
They're too unstable and expensive. Since you can't clone them, you have to grow them from seed and the seeds always come up really different every time it seems. Hard to build a solid grow program like that.
You have to buy new seeds every time. Ordering seeds is always a big ordeal it seems. You don't know if they'll get there or if you'll get caught by customs...and if they do get there, they might not germinate....and if they don't germinate....you might not get your money back.....it's a pain.
They don't generally yeild a lot. There are a few strains I've heard yield well, but 90% of them don't.

Basically, if you can afford it, if you have enough room, if you like the IDEA of growing weed but you don't REALLY wanna grow weed, if you've never grown anything in you're life ever, or if you're just REALLY lazy or "busy" then autos are just the thing for you. Otherwise, IMO, they aren't worth the time or effort.

Yeah that is a good idea.
I forgot to mention that. It is nice to have a few autos that you can grow right next to your photo-sensitive plants that you can harvest & smoke early.

this a much better idea than the box....paint it flat white inside...cut out for some fans...I use a tote system to germ seeds for the outside grow and works great....if you put them on end it will make a nice grow box....I use a 30 gallon one...its like 30 inches high so good room to grow up in...I think it was like 7.00 at either home depot or lowes...I ran 2 28 watt CFL's equivilent to 100 watt lights and 6500K temp on reflectors to grow out my seedlings..they did very well in there..

i see what your saying, i originally used MG moisture control in my first attempt at growing and it did much but not control moisture. i had to add perlite and just guessing it was about 15-20% the reason i suggest so much is being new to growing your first instinct is going to be water water water. more perlite would give you a bigger margin for error. ive never used MG organic, i mix my own now. good advice though
