Propylene glycol as solvent?

I have heard of Glycerine being used as a solvent for cannabis extracts and the safety level of such is very impressive. non-toxic, generally assumed safe for consumption etc.

GLYCERINE (GLYCEROL;1,2,3- PROPANETRIOL C3H8O3 CAS: 56-81-5 DOT:UNREGULATED

I also noted the fact that Propylene glycol (PG) and Vegetable Glycol may also work well. Some may note these are the chemicals used in vape pens and are left in solution for use. I can see tinctures being easy to make, but here is the question.

If you used one of these products for THC extraction, how would you get it out? I am guessing distillation wouldn't work. I have been using tinctures for vaping with great success, but thinking there must be a way to make a finished extraction product. Like BHO without the butane.

Any suggestions?

Canadian you have to extract the thc into an oil then disolve the oil with glycerin. Your not gunna be getting pudding to flow of bud anytime soon, and leaving it to steep in a pot under heat n such is also a nono for vaping quality. The biggest problem VG seems to be having pen wise is the vg seperating from the oil in your bottle over time.

I'm a bigtime vape e-cig guy just from quitting smoking and within six month i had already figured out it was the PG in the 50/50 PG/VG mix that was taring up my throat and likely to lead to side effects. Been mixing my own VG since and know my future is safe.

If your not trying to take the result to market then working with vg/oil in your vape pen is not a big deal just warm and shake like hell, but in a public market that would be considered sketchy.

Was thinking more along these lines...

Which answers my question. apparently it is possible although the additional extraction time is enough to not do it. I am thinking a quick methanol wash then VG and then filter, but you can do it in a single stage, the only thing is you are stuck with the VG solution, although there probably is a way to remove the cannabinoids with hexane or something, but you would just use hexane as the primary solvent in that case anyway.

Interesting stuff.

I make ISO oil. I then thin it down under low heat (in a dish in a crock pot under low or warm heat setting) with everclear as it seems to work best. From there, I add my PG but VG would work as well. Then i let it stay in there a while to let the alcohol evap away.

I use in my normal ecig vaporizor like any of my nicotine juices. It does clump sometimes, but once i take a hit or two it heats up and stays pretty well in solution.
