Proper Way to Germinate?

Hey Roll It Up!
Im planning on growing my first couple of plants and wanted to make sure i germinated the seeds correctly when i do.
Ive seen the two ways to germinate em, which is just placing them in a small cup with distilled water in it and then waiting the usual time and then what seems to be the correct way, placing them in a wet paper towel until they germinate. Im feeling like the paper towel is the right way, but just wanted to make sure. Doesnt just putting them in water drown the seed right?

put the seed in distilled water for 12-24 hours if u want 12 hours before u go to bed then do this When u wake up, or 24 hours the seeds might actually germ anyway but then just put the seed straight into the watered soil cover the soil with cling film and just wait, when it breaks through take the cling film off. that seems to work.

put the seeds in a wet paper towel in a paper plate and then put another plate upside down on top of that to create a sort of dome like structure then put it in a ziplock bag and thro under tha bed or sumwhere dark. has worked for me 100% of tha time. good luck man

i put the seeds in a wet paper towel then a plastic bad folded and taped and put in a dark spot. this was at 11 last night so hopefully they will be germinating in not to long. there arent any problems if i check up on it every to often or is that kinda disturbing or bothersome to it?

Just put them in soil/peat pots etc. Handling a cracked seed as a newbie is asking for trouble. Germ'ing is over rated.
