Promix + high alkalinity water

If you
I know Samson that there is no need to pH solutions when growing in peat based mediums, havent pHed ever. I use promix among other peat based mediums. And understand how plants and mediums work. And the only place Thumper you will find folks treating peat based mixes as hydro is cannabis forums. I think it makes them feel more in control of things.
Edit: Correct you do not have to amend with dolomite/EWC. But it sure helps a newb grower who has a tendency to over feed. The additional buffer will help tremendously.
Yes, you are mostly right. Phing is not required but acid injection to neutralize alkalinity msy be required.

Added a second small humidifier and watering with 50:50 RO water. Been flushing/ straight water for a week and growth/plant health has improved dramatically.

Going to grab some distilled water to check my medium ph then flower these plants.

I believe that by adding so much acid to my tap water to bring my ph down to 6.0, and because of the low humidity/ required watering fequency, the Dolomitic lime in my 3gal pots of promix has been used up.

If my medium ph tests back up my therory then I will go back to watering with 100% (non-ph'ed) tap water which should bring my ph back up.

How long should the lime in promix HP last under normal watering conditions?

I have to water mine every second day to keep them from drying out.
I was ph'ing down to 5.5 but it was taking a ton of acid to get it down there so i switched to straight ro for a bit then to 50:50 RO:Tap water (VERY high bicarb leels 380+ CACo3)
I figured that this would reduce my bicarb levels down to half of what they are in my tap water and it would be good and it has been.

I just think that in the process i have leached out/ neutralized all the dolomitic lime and the ph is now dropping. We shall see.. haha
