Problems Watering

Is it normal for the plants to droop directly after watering, but then to go back normal after about 4-5 hours?(I use half gallon for 5 gallon bucket)

If not how much water would you use with 5 gallon buckets with a 250 and 400 watt hps?

Normal as can be :)

Water until you see a tiny trickle of water at the bottom of your bucket..

Hopefully you made some holes.

And water only when the soil is slightly dry.

Normally, a 5 gallon bucket should be ok for a week or more, especially if the plants are small.

I water every other day. About 3-4 times a week. When the bottom leaves start to look lifeless is when i water usually. Is that right?

sounds like maybe a slight bit of overwatering, how bad are they when they are after watering?

They curl at the edges. Then after a few hours they stand directly up like there reaching for the light... My 400watt is 12inchs away from the tops of the plants so its not to far way...heat stress???
thanks for the help

that doesnt sound as bad as i was thinking at first, it's normal and im sure your plant is fine, just be careful later that the leaves dont reach up and fry themselves.

The only big concern i have is that two of my plants that are under the 250 have tons of leaves that are curling down at the tips and are a darker green then the rest. They almost look like there wilting but they still stand tall. Ill try to take some pics and post them but what symptom does that sound like?
