I'm new at this too but if you want my take on it, looks like a fungus or mold.

Is this indoors? If so, hows your air circulation? You might need more (just guessing) if this is your problem you will probably get bud rot when the bud fattens up too. I would take some PH'ed water and a rag and wipe down the effected spots on the plant to rid of what ever this is, add more air flow if its indoors and watch and see what happens.

If its outdoors there is fungicides and home remedy stuff you can use but I'm not sure what this is exactly so you will need to do more research.

Good luck!

I'm not sure what effect baking soda has on the plant or even if its ph neutral or not.

A search from the button at the top will probably bring up some good threads on the subject for you.

Looks like powdery mildew to me. Serenade does wonders (or, has for me) with powdery mildew. I use it once or twice per cycle as a preventative, and haven't seen any at all since I started doing that. (It will get rid of an existing problem too). It's a bacteria that eats mold/mildew, then dies off when it's done its job.

If you decide to try it, and have a lot of vegetation to spray - get the concentrate and mix it up yourself. It's WAY cheaper that way (and, you'll have tons left over to use in the future).

As long as your not using it 2 weeks out of harvest I think you should be ok.

It does have an odd smell - which might worry you at the time, but it goes away in a few days.
I think the above advice is good - as long as you're a couple of weeks away from harvest, there's not going to be any sign left that you used it.

Click here for a product called GreenCure. I cant say enough about this stuff. I had some BAD powdery mildew and this knocked it out with one application. I had "controlled" it for awhile with another spray, then a friend told me about this. You can spray up to and after harvest. Read up on it, or PM me for more info.
