Pressure in the Grow room?

:neutral:Is there any, or rather, what are the changes to the plant's bio-psysiology when subject to variations or constant barometric stimulus?

Furthermore, we know that plants are evolved to take most advantage of the Co2 content of our atmosphere 200.000 (?) years ago when it was denser. So, what other environmental aspects have the plant become adapted to and how do these affect them? Lightning for example releases nitrogen for the plants. Music or rather environmental vibrations -honey bees for example- are said to promote vigor. Magnetic fields? How does the gravity of Hudson Bay affect plant growth? What even is the optimal movement of air speed and direction for absorbtion of the resources there? They say touch helps - what is that about? I handle my plants generously when in vegetation but still tickle the leaves when in flower but I do not have the instrumentation to examine the cellular responses... One day maybe, but, till then I thought I would submit this topic to the forum.

ive pounderd this to.....when it rains out side or snows the barometric presure of my grow room changes ..some of the best yeilds ive had were last winter when it snowed a lot around december my plants deffently responded....One thing that i wonder about a lot as a stimuli is the Moon ...she make the tide happen does she make it eazer for plants to absorb water or to relocate water through out the plant ...i like 2 plant and harvest around the full moon ..and a lot of acient cultures had simlar idea;s that planting during deffernt moon phases was a good idea .....plants respond to stimuli ...what all those stimul is yet to be discoverd

one a nother topic you ask about touching your plants ive seen side by side photos where ever day they just touched the leaf of one plant nothing mean just touched the leaf and the other the didnt the one the touched everday was stunted plants like to be left alone ill try to see if i can find the name of the study for you man ..you should check out the advanced growing forums theres a couple threads in there that are right up your ally

Man, I really dont think too much about shit like that.... But billy4479 thanks for your response because I have a hard time not touching my plants but will try to restrain myself...

I did come across a thread about the Moon and there seems to be something about the waxing and wanning phases doing something for harvest. What I am more interested in as far as the Moon goes is the light that it reflects at night. Most of us are shooting for complete darkness in the "night" hours of set-up. I do understand that they say a "only a flash will negate the chemical that stims flowering" but plants know of the Moon, its light and its gravity, as well as knowing what the Moon does to the things around them but I am not personaly able to ask them yet so I can only ponder that at least low levels of light (and possibly of a different spectrum or otherwise somehow altered by being reflected by the surface of the more and only then cast through our atmosphere) at night are some kind of regulatory factor for the plant.... More on this?

I second the thanx by "donutpunched" for the advice about touch. It only intriuges me more though because there are plants that won't grow at all (exageration) without being touched (tach-o-tropics?), I remember hearing about this when I was younger and my grandmother was telling me "now this plant like to be touched..." yada yada. Here's something that makes it look as if scientists are behind the garage horticulturists. I most certainly will take more care only to touch them when necissary. They do like my close-breathed investigations as we know. I wonder what it is about our touch specifically (scent/hormones, Odic-aural-ether radiance, the soap we use etc...) or if it is general tactile sensations of any kind (animal passing, fellow plants rubbing, or even the wind) that turn them off. More study! More research, must, be done! lol

I will be visiting the Advanced Cultivation discussions post-haste

One change observed over the entire history of farming on earth, is the affect of the lunar phases on plant physiology. It is observed that germination rates are higher when planting seeds close to the full moon, so that they will break the surface during the waning moon phase. It is proposed that during waning periods: saps, nutrients, moisture and air are drawn into the soil while during the waxing period they are drawn out and upward into the specimen's above ground structures. There is a great deal of difficulty in providing empirical measurements for this phenomena, in fact current understanding of the lunar phases and affect on plant physiology only exist at the correlation level, leading a lot of people to discount the information all together.

Forgive my ignorance :) are you talking about pressure in the grow room, ie, if its a sealed grow room and you fill it with more air than it should have and its almost exploding from the pressure inside ? or if there is an intense vacume in the room that could almost make it implode, ?? If not lol.. then no worries, interesting thought any how :) - STELTHY :leaf:

Thanks Duder1984 this is something I will have to watch for. Where did you find was the most concise and comprehensive source of information. Google does tire a thirsty thinker ;)

Hey stelthy I have been following your 600w grow just recently and I love it. The dimensions are almost the same as the spce hope to utilize in the future (near future with set ambitions). I am indeed talking about the physical force of pressure. Did I mention the video I saw that put this idea in my head? A guy was sayin they used the fan to blow into the grow tent creating pressure that would help push bugs or spores out through passive leaks. I just wondered how the plant would like this...
