Preserving a phenotype

not sure how breeding strains works but as title suggests, is it possible to preserve a specific phenotype?
Would this be done using the CS method and then selfing the plant?

Would that cause it to be a "clone from seed" for want of a better phrase.

The reason I ask is because I have come across a dark devil which hasn't turned purple, but has stayed green and smells exactly like lemons, and on another forum they mention that the green phenotype is much nicer than the purple one.

This is an auto so im time limited too.

Is there anything that can be done? Thanks

Im talking about using CS to make this female auto flower produce male fem pollen to then create auto fem seeds. Im asking whether those seeds would be a variation of the strain (phenotype) or the exact phenotype of which both the parents came from?

If its self pollination. Then you'll get a replica of that parent plant. And whatever genetics it had.

There's a good chance you may get that green trait going to all the seeds. Unless it's a recessive. Then you may find what comes from it will look like the normal Dark Devil Auto.

The seeds will grow varied phenos of the plant you self. Just like any pack of feminized seeds.

i just grew the second seed to harvest of a self seeded plant I stressed a little and the second plant is only similar to the first.

u better hurry up if your going to do it.....takes about 3 weeks for pollen after cs is applied, then u need a minimum of 4-5 weeks to get a few mature seeds.....good luck.

If that is the case I may not have time to do this in that time frame. I have maybe 6 weeks total
