i have outdoors plants growing and i am curious how long they take to end the pre flowering and start budding. i have many pistols growing and it even looks like some are crystals. one plant has purple stems so any info would be helpful, thanx.

flowering can take as long as like 10 weeks, but its usually closer to 6. Is it purple stem or like darkish reddish?Cuz ive never grown a plant where some of the stem on parts of the plant weren't reddish

Depends where you are. Mine are just starting to show preflowers but they're so small you can't tell if they're male or female.

6-10 weeks on the flowering and like goosecomander said the purple could be from the cold. i have a few that have solid purple stalks. it could also be from a nutrient deficiency. cant remember what nutrient but i saw a thread on that in particular not too long ago.
