Ppm/ph question

check the ph of my water it is 7.5 but my ppm is 12 which is good I think . When I add ph down it shoots my ppm up to like 440 and in the red on the indicator on the back but ph is 6.5 .
What am I doing wrong and what should I go by ? This is before feeding not run off.

pH modifiers are dissolved elements.
When you add that to solution it adds those dissolved elements.
That's why the ppm changed.
After it stabilizes at 6.5, measure the ppm/ec.
That's your base reading, so add the desired ppm of nutes on top of that.

I am just doing straight water now. I had nute burn at 10 weeks flower . So am I good with high ppm but 6.5 ph ?

Water at 12ppm doesn;t need to be pH adjusted. It has no buffering capacity. What medium are you growing in?

also 328ppm of pH down your pH should be like 2.0 - Is it that rootfarm walmart crap?

Ffof with ice mountain bottled water . It is supposed to be at 6.5ph in the bottle. It was 7.5 so I adjusted the ph to 6.5 and my ppm went crazy ??? Educate me please

What are you measuring pH with?

Water itself doesn't have a pH. It's the stuff in the water. 12ppm isn't nearly enough stuff to worry about or have any effect. You don't need to pH water for soil.

I add nutrients then ph down. Once I add the nutrients the ph usually lowers some already. From there it’s like 15-20 drops per gallon. Yes drops.

A digital pen

Your pen might be bad. Recalibrate and buy some cheap pH paper to double test.

Dont ph stuff in soil, it will naturally accept acidic or alkaline substances and liquids.
